Jesus explains why:
John 3:19-20 "And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved."
The truth is light. The word of God is truth (John 17:17) and the law of God is light (Proverbs 6:23). The opposite of light is darkness. If the deceived will continue in darkness, that was because they loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. That means that what happened to them has to do with the idea of sowing and reaping.
Job 4:8 "Even as I have seen, they that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same."
Job tells us the same: they that plow iniquity, and sow wickedness, reap the same. Because their deeds were evil on the first place, that's why they reap what they have sown, and they will continue to be deceived, because they hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest their deeds should be reproved.
Proverbs 9:8 "Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee."
The Bible calls them "scorners," and scorners will not be reproved.
Proverbs 9:7 "He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot."
Try reproving a scorner with the truth, and you will get yourself shame. They will shame you, just so they appear to be right. And if you rebuke them with the truth, be sure that they will erase you from their lives. They won't ever want to talk to you or see you again. They will blot you out of their friends list. Why? because they "loved darkness rather than light." (John 3:19)
2 Thessalonians 2:10-11 "And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:"
There is no "love of the truth" in them, that they might be saved. For this cause, God has given them over to "strong delusion" that they should continue to be deceived. Isaiah further explains:
Isaiah 66:3-4 "… Yea, they have chosen their own ways, and their soul delighteth in their abominations. I also will choose their delusions, and will bring their fears upon them; because when I called, none did answer; when I spake, they did not hear: but they did evil before mine eyes, and chose that in which I delighted not."
They have chosen their own ways, and their soul delights in their abominations. They have chosen that which God delighted not. That's why God will also choose their delusions just so they continue to be deceived and believe in a lie. They will never ever come out of the "strong delusion" that God has sent them because they delight not in the truth, but loved darkness rather than light, and they will reap what they have sown.
Proverbs 1:29-32 "For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD: 30 They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof. 31 Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices. 32 For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them."
Because they have hated knowledge and despised the truth, and would not be reproved, they shall eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices. Their turning away from the truth will cost them their lives, and they shall perish as fools for the lies they loved and have chosen over the truth.
Psalms 73:18-19 "Surely thou didst set them in slippery places: thou castedst them down into destruction. 19 How are they brought into desolation, as in a moment! they are utterly consumed with terrors."
While they may appear to prosper in the eyes of other men, it was actually God leading them on a slippery path to destruction with the "strong delusion" he sent them, and they will be brought into desolation, as in a moment! They will be utterly consumed with terrors. What does it sound like? Like “died suddenly?”
Amen, everything you said is true and that God himself hath sent them a strong delusion they will never see the LIEt to come out of it. He will have compassion and mercy on whom he will and he will judge whom he will and his Judgements and righteous. 🙌
