Be careful of pharisees around us trying to put us back under the bondage of the law. While they postulate that we should all keep the law, they themselves do not. Referring to the scribes and the Pharisees, Jesus said:
Matthew 23:4 "For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men’s shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers."
The truth is that, no one has kept the law. If we can keep the law, then Christ died in vain.
Galatians 3:10 "For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them."
In fact, there is a curse on those who claim to keep the law but continueth not in all the things written in the book of the law to do them. That includes those who claim they keep dietary laws, but do not ALL the things written in the book of the law.
James 2:10 "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all."
Anybody who claims that he has kept the law, and yet offend in one point, he has not kept the law, and must therefore come under the condemnation of the law. What is the truth concerning diets?
Acts 10:13-15 "And there came a voice to him, Rise, Peter; kill, and eat. 14 But Peter said, Not so, Lord; for I have never eaten any thing that is common or unclean. 15 And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common."
What God hath cleansed, call not thou common.
Acts 15:19-20 "Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God: 20 But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood."
Acts 21:25 "As touching the Gentiles which believe, we have written and concluded that they observe no such thing, save only that they keep themselves from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and from fornication."
The only dietary restrictions for us would be to abstain from things strangled, and from blood. However, for those Christians who insist on going back to keeping of the laws, remember, you have to keep every law in the book of the law, not just the dietary laws which you claim to keep, but in reality, have fallen short of the requirements of God.
Amen
We should all keep the law, for it is eternal, God does not change. Mat 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. Mat 23:2 Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat: All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do
