The reason why we could trust the Holy Bible is not because it is a religious book, unlike all other religious texts that followers of other religions base their trust on. Rather, the Holy Bible is a collection of scriptures, and scripture means the word of God inspired, preserved and translated for us. Every word of God in the 66 books of the Holy Bible is scripture: the words of the LORD is the spiritual manifestation of Jesus himself, like what the bible tells us in this verse:
John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
The 66 books of the Holy Bible is the presence of the Spirit of the Lord in this world, and it is by faith in the written word of God, “the truth," that we come to God the Father. The bible refers to the written word of God as “the truth," and we also find a reference of that in this verse:
Ecclesiastes 12:10 “The preacher sought to find out acceptable words: and that which was written was upright, even words of truth.”
The phrase “that which was written” is a reference to scripture, and Solomon was referring to the written word of God, the words of truth. The words of truth connects to what Paul tells us in 2 Timothy 2:15 “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” We study, so that we gain knowledge from the written word of God. But the process of gaining knowledge from our bible study requires us to rightly divide the word of truth. What does it mean by “rightly dividing the word of truth?” To divide means to split something into two or more parts. In fact, the bible gave us a picture of that in this verse:
Matthew 14:19 “And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.”
Notice here that Jesus took the five loaves and two fishes, broke them up into pieces, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and then the disciples distributed them to the great number of people with them? When you divide something, you essentially break it up into two or more parts, just like how Jesus broke the five loaves and two fishes to feed the thousands. Jesus is “the bread of life" in John 6:35, and he is also “the Word” in John 1:1. So, to rightly divide the word of truth means to break up the written word of God into smaller chunks. Don't give people whole chunks of bible verses and expect them to read and understand. Break it up for them, just like what Jesus shewed us in this example. The word of God is food for the soul according to this verse:
Proverbs 10:21 "The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom."
Notice in Matthew 14:19 that Jesus broke the loaves and gave it to his disciples first, and then his disciples distributed the loaves to the multitude of people? That is a picture of the Spirit of the Lord breaking down bible verses into smaller chunks to teach it the church, the body of Christ, who in turn distribute the knowledge of salvation to the rest of the world. That is how the lips of the righteous feed many. The Holy Ghost is also known as the Comforter and the “Spirit of truth:"
John 15:26-27 “But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: 27 And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.”
Notice in John 15:26-27 that the purpose of the Spirit of truth was to testify to the church of the living God of Jesus in the scripture, that he was the Son of God. The Spirit of truth bore witness to the word of truth. That was how the disciples knew from scripture that Jesus was the Son of God prophesied from the beginning, and that is the same mechanism in place today by which we know that every word of God in the 66 books of the Holy Bible is truth. Isaiah tells us about the Holy Ghost teaching from the written word of God in these verses:
Isaiah 28:9-11 “Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. 10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: 11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.”
It is the Spirit of truth that teaches knowledge, and the same Spirit of truth that makes to understand doctrine. The way the Holy Ghost imparts knowledge and understanding to a believer is by him showing us from the written word of God the precepts embedded therein. Precepts are like building blocks of knowledge. Paul tells us in this verse that Jesus Christ is the chief corner stone:
Ephesians 2:20 “And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;”
A cornerstone is literally a stone at the corner of a building which everything else depends upon. Whatever that is built must be built in alignment with Jesus Christ (“the Word") as the chief corner stone, if not, the house will not stand. So, just like how a master builder would build a house, it is the job of the Holy Ghost to help us put together the building blocks of knowledge line upon line, and line upon line. Precepts must be built upon precepts, and precepts upon precepts. That is how we grow in the knowledge of Jesus Christ like what 2 Peter 3:18 tells us, and that is also the Spirit of God doing a work in us.
1 Corinthians 2:13 "Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual."
Paul tells us in this verse that man's wisdom cannot teach what the Spirit of God can teach. That is the reason why man cannot save himself, and the same reason why God the Father had to give us his only begotten Son. Earlier, we have read in John 15:26 how the Holy Ghost bear witness to scripture which testifies of the Lord Jesus Christ. It is the Spirit of God that helps us put together the building blocks of knowledge precept upon precept forming a doctrine. A precept is built upon other precepts which are in turn built in alignment with the knowledge of Jesus Christ as the chief corner stone.
1 Corinthians 13:12 “For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.”
As we grow in the knowledge of Jesus Christ through understanding of scripture precept upon precept, we will be able to see him more clearly from the pages of the holy scriptures. Precepts are like the building blocks of knowledge in the hands of a master builder who builds a house of knowledge from the written word of God: layer by layer, perfecting the understanding of scripture through comparison of spiritual things with spiritual: “here a little, and there a little.” The minimum count for making a comparison is two. When Jesus broke the bread to feed the thousands, he broke it up into two or more parts. That was how we have the “two or three witnesses” like what the bible tells us in these verses:
Matthew 18:16 “But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.”
2 Corinthians 13:1 “This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established.”
That goes to show that in order for us to establish a doctrine, there must be at least two or three faithful witnesses from scripture lending support to the teaching, without which, the teaching may not be established. Jesus tells us in Matthew 18:20 that “… where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” Jesus being “the truth” in John 14:6 means that if we can put together at least two or three faithful witnesses from scripture lending support one for another, we have Jesus (“the truth") in the midst speaking to us by the Holy Ghost who bear witness to the written word of God, confirming the will of God the Father concerning a matter.
Matthew 15:9 “But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.”
Doctrines are teachings discerned from the law of God: information derived from the written word of God processed and understood, to make known the will of God to the church concerning a matter.
Mark 1:22 "And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes."
True doctrine points to the authority behind the teachings. It carries a divine authority because it is a message from the most High, established based on the written word of God. The authority of scripture is expressed by the teaching of doctrine, just like what the bible tells us in this verse how Jesus taught his doctrine as one that had authority. Just how authoritative is the written word of God? Jesus shewed us in this verse:
Matthew 4:4 “But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”
The written word of God was what Jesus used to counter the Devil: it is vested with the authority of God himself. Mark 1:22 also used the words “not as the scribes,” which has the meaning: man’s teaching carries no such authority. There is no authority in the teachings of man, because they are not established based on scriptures and scriptures alone, whereas true doctrine is the teaching of scripture inspired by the Holy Ghost. God's divine authority can only be expressed in the teachings of the principles or truth derived from scriptures and scriptures alone. Therefore, the test of doctrine always ends up with the question: “Is this thus saith the LORD?” The psalmist tells us:
Psalms 19:7-11 “The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. 8 The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. 9 The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether. 10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. 11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.”
True doctrine established based on the written word of God:
has the ability to convert the soul by making wise the simple.
rejoices the heart by enlightening the eyes.
produces a fear of the LORD that endures for ever.
will warn, and in keeping of them there is great reward.
Doctrines are built on words and phrases: precept upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, and line upon line, here a little, and there a little. That also means that if the words are changed, it can drastically change the doctrine, and along with that, God’s commandments will also lose that divine authority. The Devil is that subtle: that is the reason why the true Holy Bible is constantly under attack.
The justification for modern bible versions often boils down to the question: “Can the Holy Bible contain the slightest error?” Perhaps most churches these days will say ‘yes’ to this question. Only few will say ‘no,’ and each of these groups will have their own justification, but mainly, the ones who say ‘yes' also believe that even though God has inspired the scriptures, he has somewhat failed to preserve his words perfectly from generation to generation. They believe that some of the original scriptures have been lost in the passage of time, and since we are only left with an incomplete set of God's words, we need the bible scholars to help us recover as much of what has been lost. The psalmist tells us in this passage of scripture:
Psalms 12:6-7 “The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. 7 Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.”
Well, if God has failed to preserve his words perfectly, then he is not only a liar, but he has failed as God, which obviously isn't the case, of course. God cannot fail because he is not a liar. The bible promises us that the word of the LORD stands for ever. Isaiah also tells us in this verse:
Isaiah 34:16 “Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them.”
Not a single word of the LORD preserved in the 66 books of the Holy Bible shall fall to the ground. Why? The answer is because “thy word is truth.” (John 17:17) Just like God himself, the truth has no beginning and no end, and is not restricted by time, space and matter. The written word of God is truth means that God's word is true from the beginning to the end, and under any situation. Just like how the Lord Jesus Christ (“the Word") is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last (Revelation 22:13), the truth which has no beginning and no end, cannot change, and cannot be changed.
Matthew 24:35 “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.”
The written word of God, even as God himself, is the static and immutable truth that cannot pass away with time. Heaven and earth can pass away because they are material things, but the words of the LORD can never pass away because they are spiritual things. Many Christians like to argue on the basis of “original manuscripts,” and they claim that since we don't have the original manuscripts with us, therefore, there is no such thing as a perfect Holy Bible. So, what they really believe is that God's words have passed away. Well, if God’s words have passed away, God has passed away. Therefore, in that sense, there is no God. The bible calls those Christians “fools” in Psalms 14:1 because their eyes are not opened to see the supernatural in the natural, just like how the Jews who walked with the Jesus could not see that he was the Son of God. They only saw him as the carpenter, the son of Mary, not the Son of God. This begs the question: “how do we know if the Holy Bible is a supernatural book?” Over the years, I have compiled many examples from my bible studies as irrefutable proofs that the words of the LORD preserved and translated in the 1611 King James Bible is the pure word of God.
First example: the golden candlestick.
The translation of the King James Bible was announced on July-22, 1604. The golden candlestick (Exodus 37) is the embodiment of the Spirit of God. Someone did a count on the number of items on the golden candlestick. There were:
1 shaft and 6 branches, or 7 lamps;
22 sets of 3 items consisting of a bowl, a knop and a flower.
Notice the pattern of July-22, 1604 embedded in the configuration of the golden candlestick:
The 1 shaft and 6 branches of the golden candlestick bears the pattern of the number 16 a reference of the year 1600.
The 22 sets of bowl, knop and flower is not just a reference to the 22nd day of July, but 2 + 2 = 4 is also a reference of the 4th year of 1600.
July is the seventh month of the year. That is a reference of the 7 lamps consisting of 1 shaft and 6 branches of the golden candlestick. Exodus 37:17-18 even tells us how the 7 lamps are to be divided: in a 1 + 6 configuration.
The golden candlestick is decorated with 22 sets of bowl, knop and flower in items of 3. So, 22 x 3 = 66. That would be the number of books in the canonical volume of the Holy Bible!
Who put the number patterns there? Was it God, or was it man?
Second example: “every word of God.”
There is a linkage between these three interconnected verses:
Deuteronomy 8:3 "… that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live."
Matthew 4:4 "But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."
Luke 4:4 "And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God."
To be noted here is that these three verses are witnesses one to another, and there are exactly three such verses in the 66 books of the Holy Bible where the same words are repeated.
Do the math:
Add the chapter numbers: 8 + 4 + 4 = 16;
Add the verse numbers: 3 + 4 + 4 = 11;
Combine the two, we get: 16 and 11.
These three verses connect every word of God to the number 1611, and 1611 was the year which the 1611 King James Bible was officially published. Who put the number patterns there? Was it God or was it man?
Third example: the 1611 King James Bible was the original Holy Bible.
Do you know that the term “Holy Bible” was first used on the title of the first edition of the 1611 King James Bible?
According to wikipedia:
“The title of the first edition of the translation, in Early Modern English, was "THE HOLY BIBLE, Conteyning the Old Teſtament, AND THE NEW: Newly Tranſlated out of the Originall tongues: & with the former Tranſlations diligently compared and reuiſed, by his Maiesties ſpeciall Comandement.”
Some time ago, I've looked up on the word “holy” and noted that this word is found exactly 611 times in the 1611 King James Bible.
The number 611 = 1 x 611 bears the pattern of the number 1611. This number pattern implies that the 1611 King James Bible is the “Holy Bible.” Indeed, because we have also established in the previous two examples that the 1611 King James Bible is every word of God. Only God can leave his signature in his book. Man cannot do that.
Fourth example: “Samothracia.” (Acts 16:11)
Take note of the chapter and verse number of this verse:
Acts 16:11 “Therefore loosing from Troas, we came with a straight course to Samothracia, and the next day to Neapolis;"
Acts chapter 16 verse 11 bears the pattern of the number 1611. To be noted in this verse is the word “Samothracia.”
According to wikipedia:
"The Greek island of Samothrace is a vision in green. The craggy rocks of Mount Saos, the island’s highest mountain at 5,285 feet (1,611 meters), give way to gentle slopes covered in oddly shaped plane trees, oak woodlands and majestic cedars."
Acts 16:11 not only draws a straight line northwest-ward from Israel to Samothracia, it continues all the way to the United Kingdom, the birthplace of the 1611 King James Bible. A very interesting detail to be noted here is the highest mountain in Samothracia which stands at 1,611 meters tall.
Fifth example: “Do not interpretations belong to God?” (Genesis 40:8)
The 1611 King James Bible was translated from the original languages. Sometime ago, I did a search using the pure bible search software on the word “language” just out of curiosity, and I was instantly astonished at the results.
I discovered that the word “language” is found in 22 verses in 16 chapters and 11 books. Notice the pattern of the number 22 and 1611 embedded in this word? If we do a search, one will find that the phrase “the will of God” is found exactly 22 times in the 1611 King James Bible, while the 16 chapters and 11 books bears the pattern of the number 1611. Mere coincidence? I don't think so. I know many Christians who hate the 1611 King James Bible would like to believe that this is just a coincidence. They do not like to be shown evidences that the 66 books of the Holy Bible is a supernatural book, not only because it goes against what they believe, but it also goes against the modern scholarship they love which asserts that God has not wholly and fully preserved his word. For a born again believer, however, the pure word of God will indeed astonish him. On interpretation of tongues, Paul tells us in this verse:
1 Corinthians 14:27 "If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two [Hebrew, Greek], or at the most by three [Hebrew, Greek, Aramaic], and that by course; and let one [English] interpret." Note: [insertions] added.
Today, perhaps very few people in this world will understand biblical Hebrew, biblical Aramaic or biblical Greek. If they do for Hebrew, chances are they don't know Aramaic or Greek. But God has interpreted these unknown tongues for us using one language, and he has preserved the volume of his words and ordered them in one canonical form, in the final form that we have today.
Genesis 40:8 "Do not interpretations belong to God?"
Of course. Absolutely! Amen!! The above are only five examples I have showcased on the pattern of the number 1611, pointing to the 1611 King James Bible as the pure word of God. There are more such supernatural numerical patterns I've found over the years but for the sake of keeping the article readable and not overwhelming the readers, I have refrained from sharing more. My friends, the degree to which you perceive the Holy Bible is very important. In fact, it is as important as the difference between heaven and hell. How do you view the word of God? Do you have a high view of the Holy Bible that you are reading? Do you have a low view of the Holy Bible that you are reading? Or, do you view your Holy Bible as your very life? Is God not the most High? Is he not the most High in your life? To me, it is not enough to just have a high view of the Holy Bible, and this is where a lot of Christians are struggling at. The Holy Bible is the perfect word of God: every letter, every number, every word, every book, every chapter and every verse numbering, the order and arrangement of every word and number precisely and accurately used, divinely inspired, preserved and translated. God is the sole Author of the entire Holy Bible for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness.
Just a side note which came to mind while reading:
When studying and learning the historical tracking of the OT we see Isaiah and Jeremiah warning and confronting idolatry. The reason the 1st temple was utterly destroyed. After the return from Babylon the Pharisees and Sadducies wanted the control law to the N'th degree so the sons of Jacob wouldn't stray and the temple be destroyed again. What they taught though was not rightly divided. Jesus came and prophecied that the 2nd temple would again be destroyed because of their wrong doctrine.
Idolatry and wrong doctrine destroyed the Temple! Nothing has changed. This is why people rejected Jesus Christ then and now.
He, Jesus, was the living word and correction to their wrong doctrine! He was the 3rd living temple of the word of God! He faufght biblical error unto death. He is the way the truth and the life and when we line the scripture up against him as the chief cornerstone we will never have idolatry or wrong doctrine. This is a deep concept to be prayed about and considered in the heart. I'll leave it at that- excellent writing Max. Very profound to think about. He is the bread of life!
The Bible is the innate word of God .
