Galatians 2:11 "But when Peter was come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed."
Paul withstood Peter to the face in public when he declined after the Jews in order to please them.
Once there was a pre-tribber on facebook who tried to syncretize what he believes and what I believe by saying something like "anyway, nobody can be sure when the rapture will be".
I immediately disagreed with him, and I told him plainly and clearly that the Bible is very clear that the rapture will be "after the tribulation" (Matthew 24:29-31; Mark 13:24-27).
There is no denial about it, and I cannot disagree with Scripture. To agree with him is to deny Scripture, and to deny Scripture is to deny the Lord that bought me (John 1:1; 2 Peter 2:1).
The thing is this: What if I were to go along with him, and be nice about it? Am I doing him any good? What kind of example am I showing to my brethren on facebook?
In fact, the Bible expressly forbids us from doing so:
Exodus 23:2 "¶ Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest judgment:"
While the truth may be hard to swallow, to give someone the truth is actually the greatest form of love.
Proverbs 27:5-6 "Open rebuke is better than secret love. 6 Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful."
To decline after what he falsely believes is to wrest the word of God in order please him. God forbid I should do that to anyone.
I also believe that the great tribulation In Revelation 7:2-8 connected with Matthew 24:29-31 & Mark 13:24-27, when God’s wrath pout out from heaven it won’t hurt those who has the seal of God.
