Someone wrote to me yesterday, after I published the article "Does COVID19 vaccines defile you?" on my blog, claiming that I am twisting scripture, and basically calling me a false convert. He calls himself a "born again Christian," and he quoted from:
1 Corinthians 2:2 "For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified."
According to him, that was the bible saying that salvation is only about knowing Jesus and him crucified. He further claimed that it is not biblical to talk about COVID, or the government or anything that I usually rant about in my posts, because there is nothing in the bible that talk about these things.
John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."
To this person, Jesus Christ is just an image made like unto a corruptible man, and in that sense, because he did not see the bible talking about COVID, or the government or warning us against false bibles. All he knows is an image made like unto a corruptible man, whom he worships as Lord and Saviour. It is strange, because John 1:1 tells us that Jesus Christ is the Word, and the Word was God.
John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
This verse further declares Jesus Christ to be "the truth," and this term is a reference to the 66 books of the word of God, such as in this verse:
Psalms 119:142 "Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth."
The psalmist calls the law of God, "the truth." That is a reference to Jesus Christ in John 14:6 and John 1:1, which is to say, Jesus Christ is the Spirit of the LORD in the 66 books of the word of God, the words therein being the physical form of his Spirit.
Proverbs 1:23 "Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you."
Notice how the spirit and the word is one in this verse? The word of God is the physical form of the Spirit of the LORD, and the Spirit of the LORD is the spiritual form of the word of God. One cannot be decoupled from the other.
Luke 8:11 "Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God."
In fact, it is the Spirit of the LORD by the word of God that we receive in our hearts. The word of God in the 66 books of the Holy Bible is the means by which a sinner may be born again to inherit eternal life. It is the words, and it is also the Spirit of the LORD that he has received in the good ground of an honest and good heart.
2 Corinthians 4:7 "But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us."
Paul tells us that there is a "treasure" in the earthen vessel of every born again believer, and he was referring to the word of God that was sown in the heart of a believer. Link this to the verse that this particular Christian who called me a false convert used to mock me:
1 Corinthians 2:2 "For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified."
The key phrase to note is "save Jesus Christ, and him crucified." Earlier, we have established the identity of Jesus Christ as the Spirit of the LORD in the 66 books of the Holy Bible. He is "the truth" who came in the form of a man, to be offered up as the Lamb of God for the sins of the whole world, as also evident in this verse:
Genesis 22:8 "And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together."
Abraham tells us that "God will provide himself a lamb" for the burnt offering. Jesus Christ is the fulfillment of this prophecy, when he came as the Lamb of God, as declared by John the Baptist:
John 1:29 "¶ The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world."
He is not just the Son of man who came in the flesh, but "the truth" himself who came in the word, and in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance. Therefore, for Paul to say "I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified," that is to say, it is the word of God, and the truth of the gospel alone! Sola Scriptura!!
1 Corinthians 2:14 "But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned."
The 66 books of the Holy Bible is a closed book to a "natural man," who receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness unto him, nether can he know them, for spiritual things must be spiritually discerned. The Holy Ghost is also called the "Spirit of truth" in John 14:17 and other verses.
John 15:26 "But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:"
The job of the Spirit of truth is to testify of the "word of truth," (Ephesians 1:13) which is the 66 books of the Holy Bible. This Christian does not use the 1611 King James Bible. He calls every bible on the book shelf "holy and true," which of course, is a misnomer. That goes to show that his natural eyes cannot discern the word of God from a pile of books written by man.
Matt 5:11 is a reminder for all in Christ; while we all wait on renewal on the Lord’s day we should love one another as I loved you John 13:34 - 35 , mocking is no way for any in Christ to show disagreement.
Max how encouraging when in Christ Jesus, one is mocked; keep on never giving up, fight the good fight, which thankfully has already been won for us.
