Matthew 3:16 "And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:"
This verse is a fulfillment of:
Isaiah 11:2 "And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;"
Therefore, the seven spirits of God is one Holy Spirit. Without any of these seven, it is not the Holy Spirit.
John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
John 15:26 "But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:"
Jesus Christ is the Word of God and “the truth”, while the Holy Ghost is the Spirit of truth. The Spirit of truth will only testify of “the truth”. Anything apart from the pure words of the Holy Bible, there is no Holy Spirit. So, if you have the word of God in you, you have the Holy Ghost.
Deacon Stephen did not go around reeling to and fro like a drunkard, barking like a dog, acting hysterically or talking in gibberish tongues like modern-day Churchians. He was full of the Holy Ghost.
Acts 6:5 "¶ And the saying pleased the whole multitude: and they chose Stephen, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost, and Philip, and Prochorus, and Nicanor, and Timon, and Parmenas, and Nicolas a proselyte of Antioch:"
When you are full of faith, you are full of the Holy Ghost. Stephen was full of faith and of the Holy Ghost: being filled with the spirit of the LORD, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD. He was bold.
Ecclesiastes 8:1 "Who is as the wise man? and who knoweth the interpretation of a thing? a man’s wisdom maketh his face to shine, and the boldness of his face shall be changed."
Stephen's face was as the face of an angel before the religious mop who accused him falsely for blasphemy:
Acts 6:15 "And all that sat in the council, looking stedfastly on him, saw his face as it had been the face of an angel."
Stephen was without fear when he stood before those who persecuted him, then turned and rebuked them sharply: cutting them to the heart by the Sword of the Spirit (not in the sense of how Benny Hinn does it!). He preached the word of God with such conviction and authority, that there was neither fear of man nor respect of persons with him.
Proverbs 28:1 "The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion."
In the end, the hypocritical religious mop had to hasten to stone him because they were convicted of their guilt and had to flee from the right words that proceeded out of his mouth.
Job 6:25 "How forcible are right words! but what doth your arguing reprove?"
2 Corinthians 13:8 "For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth."
How forcible are right words! There was nothing those religious hypocrite could do against Stephen, except to stone him, a man full of faith and of the Holy Ghost. That my friends, is the Bible's version of "being full of the Holy Ghost" (Acts 7:55). How many churches and Christians these days are truly full of the Holy Ghost? I guess not many…
Amen ❤️
