Just how counterfeit is a counterfeit bible?
I'm not going to write a long post to address this question, but I will show you some examples that will validate my point. Also, I'm just going to use the NIV to compare against the King James Bible. The NIV is currently the most popular modern bible version out there, and it was translated from the same base text as most other modern bible versions. Not planning to be too elaborate about it as I have already elaborated this in many of my posts. Compare the following:
Daniel 3:25 KJV "He answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God."
Daniel 3:25 NIV "He said, “Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods.”"
Notice in this verse how the NIV changed the phrase "the Son of God", a reference to Jesus Christ, to "a son of the gods"?
Matthew 18:11 KJV "For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost."
Matthew 18:11 NIV "..."
Notice the NIV completely removed the words in this verse saying that it was not found in their manuscripts, which by the way, is not the same as the manuscripts for the King James Bible. They do not originate from the same source.
1 John 5:7 KJV "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one."
1 John 5:7 NIV "For there are three that testify:"
Notice how the NIV removed the godhead from this verse?
Above are just three examples out of the thousands of them. Today, we will find many baseless assertions put out there by churches which justify the NIV and other modern bible versions. One of these is that the NIV and other modern bible versions preach the same gospel as that in the 1611 King James Bible. Just to let you know that I disagree with them. Why do I say that?
Deuteronomy 18:22 "When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him."
To prophesy presumptuously is to speak as a false prophet. Here, a picture is drawn for us to know that many false prophets will come in the name of the LORD speaking presumptuously where the LORD hath not spoken. This is prophetic of the many false bibles out there which have already come in the name of the LORD.
Matthew 24:4-5 "And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. 5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many."
In fact, no serious theologian will admit that he does not know about the corruption in modern bible versions, yet modern bible versions continue to prosper and gain stronger and stronger foothold in churches, seminaries and homes. Why?
The growing acceptance of corrupt bible versions is not by chance. There is a subtle, intentional, and deliberate effort involved, because the deficiencies in these corrupt bibles would mean that man has a place in deciding what God's word should be, and what God's word should not be. Along with the Ecumenical Movement, the Neo-Evangelical Movement, the Charismatic Movement, and the emerging Hebrew Roots Movement, the flooding of modern bible versions in churches, seminaries and homes not only serves to empower these ungodly movements, but they seek to replace what's plainly written in the pure word of God (faithful and true), so that man may now proclaim himself a god, fulfilling the will of the Devil.
Another reason why evil men want to keep the Holy Bible deficient, is so that men would then be able to justify themselves with the idolatrous beliefs, strange philosophies and wicked traditions they have been holding on, all of which are contrary to the pure word of God (faithful and true). By keeping the bible deficient would not only justify a sinful lifestyle (the "bible" being silent or somewhat approving on their present sins), but also only open up doors of opportunities for men to introduce another Jesus and another gospel (2 Cor 11:4) into the church via the doctrine of Balaam and the doctrine of Nicolaitans, which thing God hates (Rev 2:15).
Can a false prophet preach the real gospel? What does a false prophet seek to achieve? What kind of damage can a false prophet do to you? The answers are found in 1 Kings 13. Go read it up. It is either that the false prophet is right or the real prophet is right. One cannot believe in a false prophet and the real prophet at the same time. They don't speak the same things. Moreover, the real Holy Bible cannot have one mistake. If your gospel is subjected to the scholarship of man, then man is your God, and the God of the Holy Bible is not your God. And, if man is your God, then your salvation is not real salvation. It's artificial. It's man-made. Such is the spirit of antichrist working in the children of disobedience, plainly revealed to us in the last days.
