There will be no mistake about it. Those who will take the mark will walk themselves into the lake of fire. God has already warned them. He even gave his only begotten Son for the whole world. The promise of eternal life is for everybody. The truth is for everybody, but not everybody is for the truth. Not everybody wants Jesus Christ as their Lord & Saviour. They want to get there by themselves, their own abilities, own works and own effort.
…. surely i was long on that broad path, thinking i would not trouble God and our Lord with these small problems the world has, for He our heavenly Father has so much big business to deal with, it is best i do not bother Him much. thank our blessed King, who is long suffering and merciful for after too many years being blind, all glory to my Saviour for giving me sight and hearing, calling me to him ( 1 John 4:19 “ 19 We love him, because he first loved us.”)
