"Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together" (Hebrews 10:25)
The seed is the word of God. (Luke 8:11) Amen?
Someone asked me why I have forsaken the assembly of ourselves together (Hebrews 10:25) all these years because I have stopped attending local churches.
The answer is 'No' I have not. If I have truly forsaken the assembly of ourselves together, then the things that I do will show it i.e. a tree is known by his fruit. While it is true that I have stopped attending local churches, that does not mean that I have forsaken the faith.
Matthew 12:50 "For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother."
A truly born again believer is "whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven." It is not defined by church attendance.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works."
A born again believer will always go back to the word of God for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, but a faithful church goer may or may not.
Ultimately, a born again believer is known by his fruit.
Matthew 7:20 "Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them."
Just as a seed when sown in the ground will produce fruit, a person will always be known by his fruit. A Christian will be known by his fruit. A Churchian too, will be known by his fruit.
When Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego stood while everyone else fell before the golden image which king Nebuchadnezzar had made, they were known by their fruits. Without real faith, it is impossible to stand, and apart from real faith, one cannot be saved.
Real Christians are known by their faith in every word of God. The same may not be said for someone who may be attending church every week, but when called to stand for the word of God, they turned to their own wisdom instead. They turned to the advice of their pastors who in turn got their advice from the government. In the case of Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego, their government was King Nebuchadnezzar.
