Salvation: Angels vs Man
The question here is: "Will angels which sinned against God be forgiven of their sins?" Hebrews 2 is an excellent reference where the answer to this question is mostly found. I strongly recommend you to read the entire chapter and let the word of God speak to you on this subject.
Hebrews 2:2-3 "For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward; 3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;"
This passage tells us that angels "received a just recompence of reward" for every transgression and disobedience. The passage goes on to say "if we neglect so great salvation", there is also no escape for mankind.
Hebrews 2:7 "Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands:"
This verse is a reference to:
Psalms 8:5-6 "For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour. 6 Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:"
So, the difference between angels and mankind is that while angels are made a little higher than man, they cannot be pardoned from their transgressions. Man was made in the image of God. Though he was made a little lower than angels, he was made to have dominion over "the works of thy hands". God has crowned him with glory and honour. The word "crowned" is a reference to kingship and dominion.
Hebrews 2:5 "For unto the angels hath he not put in subjection the world to come, whereof we speak."
God has not given angels the dominion as he has given unto man. Every born again believer is not only a "son of God", but he is also a "king". What is a "king"?
1 Peter 2:9-10 "But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light: Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy."
Revelation 1:5-6 "And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen."
Revelation 5:9-10 "And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth."
The "royal priesthood" and "kings and priests" in the above passages are undoubtedly references to born again believers, the ones who truly fear the words of the LORD, and the spirit of the fear of the LORD is in them.
Hebrews 2:9 "But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man."
Jesus was made “a little lower than angels” for our sakes. How is one made a "king"? It was by the grace of God that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. It was by Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, the King of kings and the Lord of lords, who tasted death for mankind that whosoever believeth in him should be crowned with glory and honour.
Hebrews 2:16 "For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham."
The reason why Jesus Christ took on the nature of man is so that man can be saved. He did not take on him the nature of angels. The Bible is clear in this aspect: angels which sinned against God cannot be saved.
