Signs of the times: the days of Noah
When the disciples asked for a sign that would show how close we are to the end of the world, Jesus Christ gave a number of signs that would indicate its approaching nearness. One of the things he spoke of was about the "days of Noe." So if anybody wants to know about the signs of the end times, study the days of Noah before the Flood, the conditions which existed before God judged the earth with the Great Flood.
Matthew 24:37-39 "But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be."
Notice that in the days of Noah before the Flood, the people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage. They were totally oblivious to the great danger that was drawing closer and closer with each passing day, until the day when Noah entered the ark, and the Flood came, and took them all away. The Bible tells us in:
Genesis 4:26 "And to Seth, to him also there was born a son; and he called his name Enos: then began men to call upon the name of the LORD."
Enos died in the year 1,140 after the Creation, eighty-four years after Noah was born. By that time, there were already many people on earth who were living and had "called upon the name of the LORD" when the Flood came. That was the case in the days of Noah. However, out of all the untold thousands who had called upon the name of the LORD, only Noah and his family were saved. The Bible further tells us:
2 Peter 2:5 "And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;"
Therefore we conclude that those who had called upon the name of the LORD, but were destroyed in the Flood, were all unsaved people who went to Hell, since Peter calls them "the ungodly." Jesus tells us in Matthew 24:37-39 that those conditions would be repeated towards the end of the world. Most people will be totally oblivious to the great danger that is drawing closer by the day, until it is too late for regrets.
Today, millions upon millions of people have called on the name of the LORD, but they have been deceived to think they are converted. Sadly, many are not. They may have come to the ark of salvation, but they are not in Christ. They are religious but lost. Man is no longer just sinful, as he has always been ever since Genesis 3, the whole human race has now plummeted to the level of pure flesh, just plain, ordinary, weak and sinful stock, abandoned to a life of sin.
We are now living in the "days of Noe" more than ever, but few have understood how this great apostasy came about in history, a great apostasy that began about 200 years ago, with this person called Charles G. Finney (1792-1875). It was by a great deception brought about by Finney that true conversion has now become a rare thing among evangelicals. He was the father of modern-day apostasy who helped to liberalize Christianity and popularized the false doctrine of "decisionism."
What is “decisionism?"
Simply said, decisionism teaches that a person is saved based on the outward gestures he demonstrates rather than the inward conversion of his heart. It was a liberal theology developed by Charles G. Finney in the early 1800s. Today, decisionism dominates in churches all over the world. Instead of expounding from "Moses and the prophets," modern churches made things a lot easier for sinners by taking a shortcut and jump straight to the procedures:
Admit you're a sinner;
Realize the penalty of sin;
Believe that Jesus Christ died, was buried and rose again for you;
Trust Jesus Christ alone as your saviour.
Even though it is not explicitly stated in this list, it usually starts with a "decision" to accept Christ as Lord and Saviour, and it normally ends with a sinner's prayer. Nothing is changed about that person after he decided to give his heart to Jesus Christ and voluntarily walked through a set of procedures, because that is NOT the way a person is saved according to the Bible. Therefore, he continues to remain in his sin, all the while thinking that he has been born again, when in fact, he is still lost and is on his way to hell! That is what decisionism is about in a nutshell.
BTW, Charles G. Finney himself was a high level Freemason, a Master Mason, who claimed conversion and became active in anti-masonic movements. The question to ask is this: has he truly left the cult? Jesus tells us in this passage of scripture to beware of false prophets who come in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves:
Matthew 7:15-20 "¶ Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. 19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. 20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them."
A corrupt tree cannot bring forth good fruit. One of the things about Freemasons is that they are empowered by their doctrine of fraternity to live a double life. Masons are required to tell lies or even perjure themselves in order to help or protect other masons. This fraternity concept of Freemasonry makes it easy for diabolical groups like the Jesuits, which was known for their infiltration and secret assassinations, to ride on the Brotherhood in furtherance of their own cause.
