There is a purpose for everything under heaven
Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: 2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;"
The Bible tells us in these two verses that there is a purpose for everything under heaven. There is already a purpose for you and for me the moment we were born into this world in the time we were born in. There are people who around us, whether they are our friends or our enemies. Likewise, there is also a purpose for their existence and why they exist in your lives and mine. It is a mystery to us. In fact, we are all part of a great mystery, but there is no mystery before God who knew the end from the beginning.
There are times in our lives when we celebrate, and there are times when we are tried for our faith. What we do in these times is a culmination of the "seeds" that have been planted in our lives since the day when we began to exist. There are good seeds as well as bad ones. Good seeds will bring forth good trees which in turn produce more good seeds. Likewise for bad seeds which will bring forth corrupt tree, to the end, when we finally return to dust, we will be judged for our works.
Ecclesiastes 12:1 "Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;"
We will all stand before our Creator who created us for a purpose. That's why it is wisdom first and foremost to fear the LORD our Creator. Are we living in the will of God, our Creator who created us and everything under heaven? The will of God is found in the 66 books of the Holy Bible. This phrase "will of God" is found exactly 22 times in the King James Bible, the same number of times "mystery" is found in the same Holy Bible. Our existence is a mystery to us, but not before our Creator who created us for a purpose.
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 "Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. 14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil."
We have a "duty" for our individual existence, and a duty towards those who live around us (including our enemies) and are affected by our words and actions one way or another, to the end, we will be judged for our works, for God shall bring everything into judgment, even every secret thing. It is wisdom to be very afraid of an almighty and all-powerful God who created us for a purpose. Are we fulfilling our "duty" as an individual towards God and men?
Matthew 22:37-40 "Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets."
The whole duty of man is summarised in these two commandments. There is a purpose why Jesus came as the Son of man. There is a purpose why God the Father gave his only begotten Son to be a ransom for you and me, whosoever believeth in his only begotten Son. There is a purpose why the Son of God ascended to be with the Father and God the Father gave us the Holy Ghost. Do you have the Holy Spirit of God to teach you and guide you in all things pertaining to the will of God in the 66 books of the Holy Bible? Have you been born again to know the things of the Spirit of God?
John 3:3 "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."
Before I was born again I know natural things and understand natural laws, but I have absolutely no knowledge of spiritual things and spiritual laws. While we are alive in this natural body we understand and abide in natural laws. But beyond this natural body, we also have a spirit and a soul, and these things which are also part of us, are subjected to spiritual laws. In fact, what we do in our natural body is that which we have believed in our hearts and minds, whether it be good or evil. Just like a seed which was sown in the ground, what we have believed in our hearts will bring forth a fruit, and we will be judged by our fruits. This is as much a certainty as we would be judged for our obedience to civil laws before an earthly judge.
