What is "blasphemy against the Holy Ghost"?
Luke 12:10 "And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven."
Psalms 19:13-14 "Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression. 14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer."
According to the psalmist, when “presumptuous sins” have dominion over a man, he is not upright, and is not innocent from the “great transgression”. Verse 14 tells us that an upright man is one whose words and meditation of the heart is acceptable in the sight of the LORD.
1 John 3:4 "Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law."
Sin is the transgression of the law i.e. presumptuous sins are also a transgression of the law, and to sin presumptuously against the law of God is to commit the great transgression.
Joshua 24:26 "¶ And Joshua wrote these words in the book of the law of God, and took a great stone, and set it up there under an oak, that was by the sanctuary of the LORD."
Nehemiah 8:8 "So they read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading."
The law of God is in the 66 books of the Holy Bible, and this phrase “law of God” is found exactly 7 times in the 1611 King James Bible, the same number of times the name of God “Jehovah” is found in the same Holy Bible.
1 John 5:16-17 "If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it. 17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death."
John tells us that all unrighteousness is sin, but there is “a sin unto death” and “a sin not unto death”. The psalmist warns us in Psalms 19:13 on “presumptuous sins”, and how it eventually leads to “the great transgression”. Presumptuous sins being to sin presumptuously against of the law of God (66 books of the Holy Bible), therefore the great transgression is a sin unto death.
Matthew 12:31-32 "¶ Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. 32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come."
Jesus tells us that “all manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men” (sin not unto death) but there is a sin that shall not be forgiven unto men, and that is the “blasphemy against the Holy Ghost”. According to verse 32, the blasphemy of the Holy Ghost means to speak against the Holy Ghost.
Numbers 15:27-29 "¶ And if any soul sin through ignorance, then he shall bring a she goat of the first year for a sin offering. 28 And the priest shall make an atonement for the soul that sinneth ignorantly, when he sinneth by ignorance before the LORD, to make an atonement for him; and it shall be forgiven him. 29 Ye shall have one law for him that sinneth through ignorance, both for him that is born among the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them."
If any soul sinned ignorantly, there is an atonement for him, and it shall be forgiven him. This is “a sin not unto death” (1 John 5:17). Contrast this with:
Numbers 15:30-31 "¶ But the soul that doeth ought presumptuously, whether he be born in the land, or a stranger, the same reproacheth the LORD; and that soul shall be cut off from among his people. 31 Because he hath despised the word of the LORD, and hath broken his commandment, that soul shall utterly be cut off; his iniquity shall be upon him."
Notice the word “presumptuous” in this passage? When a man despised the word of the LORD, he have sinned presumptuously, he have blasphemed the Holy Ghost.
Proverbs 13:13 "Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded."
Therefore: to despise the word of God → is to sin presumptuously against the law of God (66 books of the Holy Bible) → is to speak against the Holy Ghost → is a sin unto death → is the great transgression.
2 Peter 1:20-21 "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost."
The key phrase here is “prophecy of the scripture” (66 books of the Holy Bible). Peter tells us that the 66 books of the Holy Bible came “not by the will of men”, which is to say, but by the will of God. The mechanism whereby the 66 books of the Holy Bible came about was also explained: “holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.”
John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
John 17:17 "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth."
The word of God is “the truth” in one book which came about by the will of God (not of men) as holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. To speak against the Holy Ghost is to lie against the truth.
James 3:13-15 "Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. 14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. 15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish."
James tells us that there are men who lie against the truth (speak against the Holy Ghost), and it was motivated by a “wisdom” that descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual and devilish. More reading in this post:
Galatians 4:16 "Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?"
Paul calls those men an “enemy” of born again believers in this verse. These are the men who are not afraid to speak presumptuously against the word of God (calling God a liar). Jesus tells us that they have not forgiveness of sin, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.
Psalms 119:69-70 "The proud have forged a lie against me: but I will keep thy precepts with my whole heart. 70 Their heart is as fat as grease; but I delight in thy law."
The psalmist calls those men (enemy) “the proud” and contrast them with those who delight in the law of God (born again believers) who love the words LORD with their whole heart. Notice they “forged a lie against me”.
Daniel 6:4-5 "¶ Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him. 5 Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the law of his God."
The enemy (the proud) is always seeking to find an occasion against the children of God for to destroy them. The attack is always concerning the law of God, and their tactic is always in lying against the truth that those who are truly born again love with their whole heart and might.
Matthew 26:60-61 "But found none: yea, though many false witnesses came, yet found they none. At the last came two false witnesses, 61 And said, This fellow said, I am able to destroy the temple of God, and to build it in three days."
They will also employ many “false witnesses” just so that they appear to be right in the eyes of men.
Ezekiel 13:6 "They have seen vanity and lying divination, saying, The LORD saith: and the LORD hath not sent them: and they have made others to hope that they would confirm the word."

In this time and era (2021), who are the ones who are making “others to hope that they would confirm the word” (Ezekiel 13:6) i.e. confirm their lies? Think about the government propagating the COVID lie and broadcasting it through the mainstream media every single day. Who are the ones who have “forged a lie” (Psalms 119:69) against the children of God for to destroy them? Their hate goes back to ancient times, and to this very day, they are still very much doing the same things to the body of born again believers, to persecute us. Why are they doing this to us? What is their motivation? More reading in this post:
