What will the mark of the beast do in a man?
Mark 3:29 "But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation:"
Revelation 14:9-11 "And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, 10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: 11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name."
Earlier I did a post titled What is “blasphemy against the Holy Ghost”? and I shared something on “a sin not unto death” and a “sin unto death” according to this passage of scripture:
1 John 5:16-17 "If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it. 17 All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death."
Then I explained from scripture how “a sin unto death” is the “blasphemy against the Holy Ghost” according to:
Matthew 12:31-32 "¶ Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. 32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come."
Jesus tells us in verse 31 that “All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven into men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.” John tells us in Revelation 14:9-11 that “if any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God… and he shall be tormented with fore and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb… and the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever…”
Mark 3:29 "But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation:"
Jesus tells us in this verse that the punishment for blasphemy against the Holy Ghost is “eternal damnation”. It is a sin that God cannot forgive, neither in this world, nor in the world to come. Likewise, if any man were to receive the mark of the beast, he shall not have forgiveness of sin, neither in this world, nor in the world to come. This ought to tell us that the mark of the beast when received in our 46-chromosomes body will be to take away something in a man, and put in him a beast-like nature so that he no longer has the ability to reason, but only knows how to blaspheme God, just like the beast himself:
Revelation 13:6 "And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven."
This verse tells us that the beast opened his mouth in blasphemy against God. Likewise, men who have received the mark of the beast will inherit the nature of the beast. How do I know?
Revelation 16:9-11 "And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory. 10 And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain, 11 And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds."
The context of this scripture is after men have received the mark of the beast, and now God’s wrath was presently on earth to torment them. John tells us that they blasphemed the name of God and repented not of their deeds i.e. they have lost the ability to reason, but have become vile like a beast. This is what the mark of the beast will do to a man i.e. to change the nature of a man into that of the beast. In fact, this is just the exact opposite of what the word of God will do to a man, that is, give him a new nature.
2 Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."
While the word of God will work in a born again believer, and impart in him a Christ-like nature, the mark of the beast will also work in a man, and impart in him a beast-like nature. The unregenerate man will be transformed i.e. “old things are passed away”. He will also be a “new creature" but instead of changing into one that is Christ-like, he now has a beast-like nature and one that only knows to blaspheme God. This is the exact opposite of a born again believer who knows to praise God and give him glory.
