Wolves
Ezekiel 13:6 "... the LORD hath not sent them: and they have made others to hope that they would confirm the word."
Jesus used the word "wolves" to describe false prophets for a good reason.
Matthew 7:15 "Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves."
Like wolves, false prophets gather in one big pack. There were as many as 400 false prophets with Ahab in 1 Kings 22. The LORD hath not spoken yet these wicked men prophesied in one voice and in one accord as though the LORD hath spoken.
1 Kings 22:13 "... Behold now, the words of the prophets declare good unto the king with one mouth: let thy word, I pray thee, be like the word of one of them, and speak that which is good."
The nature of wolves is that when one wolf howls, other wolves would howl with him. Likewise, when one false prophet prophesies, the rest of the false prophets would confirm his "prophecy" (which is no prophecy but lying divination).
Jeremiah 29:23 "Because they have committed villany in Israel, and have committed adultery with their neighbours’ wives, and have spoken lying words in my name, which I have not commanded them; even I know, and am a witness, saith the LORD."
They prophesy deceit. They prophesy with "lying words".
1 Kings 22:23 "Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of all these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil concerning thee."
There is a "lying spirit" working in the midst of them.
BTW, all forms of the word "wolf" (wolf, wolves) are found exactly 13 times in the King James Bible. What about the number 13 in the Bible? First and foremost, 13 is the number of times the phrase “love of God” and “love one another” is found in the 1611 King James Bible:
Matthew 22:37-40 "Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets."
The title 'Jerubbaal' was a name given to Gideon when he destroyed the altar of Baal which his father worshipped:
Judges 6:32 "Therefore on that day he called him Jerubbaal, saying, Let Baal plead against him, because he hath thrown down his altar."
The name “Jerubbaal” is found in exactly 13 verses in the King James Bible, and it means “let Baal plead against” according to Judges 6:32. There is an enemy which plead against born again believers before God. We know him from Job 1:9-11 and Job 2:4-5 that Satan pleaded against Job for God to destroy him without a cause. Revelation 12:10 calls him "accuser of our brethren" who accuse born again believers day and night before God.
Genesis 13:13 "But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly."
Notice the pattern of the number 13 in the chapter and the verse. Also, this verse is given to us in 13 words, and it is a reference to the men of Sodom who were wicked and sinners before the LORD.
Revelation 17:5 "And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH."
Notice the name of the great harlot is given to us in exactly 13 words, in the language of the 1611 King James Bible.
Esther 3:10 "And the king took his ring from his hand, and gave it unto Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, the Jews’ enemy."
All forms of the word “Agag” are found exactly 13 times in the King James Bible. Agag was a title conferred to the king of the Amalekites (1 Samuel 15:8, 20, 32) and Agag (Amalek) was “the enemy of all the Jews” (Esther 9:24).
1 Corinthians 13:6 "Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;"
So, even as iniquity (lies) is the opposite of the truth, and the “man of sin” (2 Thessalonians 2:3) is the adversary of Jesus Christ, and the strange woman is the opposite of the virtuous woman, there is a law of opposites. The law of opposites tells us that wolves are the opposite of a “Jerubbaal”, and Jerubbaal is a type of a born again believers which the Devil hates.
2 Peter 2:14 "Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:"
Wolves are as men of Sodom, having eyes full of adultery, and they cannot cease from sin, beguiling unstable souls. In Matthew 7:15, Jesus equates the false prophets to ravening wolves. False prophets come in sheep’s clothing, and their intentions are to deceive. It is not in their nature to do things in the open because they don’t want their real identities to be exposed. Just like wolves, they find comfort in numbers, because when one wolf howls, others would also do likewise, bearing false witnesses and confirming one another’s lies.
