Isn’t it interesting this term “a thousand years” is found exactly 7 times in the 1611 King James Bible?
Peter tells us that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years:
2 Peter 3:8 "But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day."
This verse was Peter quoting from:
Psalms 90:4 "For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night."
Nehemiah tells us that the “last day” is the seventh day:
Nehemiah 8:18 "Also day by day, from the first day unto the last day, he read in the book of the law of God. And they kept the feast seven days; and on the eighth day was a solemn assembly, according unto the manner."
Martha tells us that the dead in Christ shall rise again in the resurrection at the “last day” (seventh day):
John 11:23-24 "Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again. 24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day."
That means that there will be a 7,000 years period from the first day to the last day, if we were to take it literally, and in the last day of the 7,000 years period would be the resurrection of the dead in Christ.
It so happens that recently someone asked me about my understanding of this passage of scripture in application to the COVID19 snakejabs:
1 Corinthians 3:16-17 "Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are."
Well, if taking the COVID19 snakejabs is defiling the temple of God, why didn't God destroy them immediately? Actually, this is like what happened to Adam:
Genesis 2:17 "But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die."
Did Adam die “in the day” he took from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil? We know from Genesis 5:5 that Adam lived to 930 years of age. Likewise, it was the grace of God that many people did not die immediately after their defilement of the temple of their bodies. However, that does not mean God would not eventually destroy them.
Numbers 32:23 "But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the LORD: and be sure your sin will find you out."
BTW, Adam did die “in the day” he ate of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, because the bible tells us that “one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.” (2 Peter 3:8) Adam died 70 years short of 1,000 years! That is a literal 1,000 years according to scripture. Link this to:
Revelation 20:6 "Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years."
This verse tells us that those who hath part in the first resurrection shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him for 1,000 years. The next two verses tell us:
Revelation 20:7-8 "And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, 8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea."
This phrase “the thousand years” refers to the 1,000 years reign of born again believers with Christ in the previous verse. It tells us that when the 1,000 years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, and shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them to battle. Is this a literal 1,000 years? I believe this to be a literal 1,000 years reign according to what the bible has shown us in the age of Adam, who died “in the day” he took from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
