How is the Temple of God Defiled?

What is the “temple of God?“ Paul tells us in these two verses:

1 Corinthians 3:16-17 "Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are."

By definition according to this passage of scripture, the temple of God is where the Spirit of God dwelleth. Paul says “ye are the temple of God,” that is to say, the Spirit of God dwells in the body of every born again believer. Verse 17 also tells us that if any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy, that is to say, we are only stewards of the temple of God, but not the owner of it. God is the owner, not us. The reason why God would destroy those who defile the temple of God is this: “for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are.” That is to say, our body where the Spirit of God dwelleth is holy, and the penalty for defiling that which is holy is that God shall destroy us. The psalmist tells us in this passage of scripture:

Psalms 139:13-16 "For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb. 14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well. 15 My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. 16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them."

Just like Adam, we were made. Verse 14 tells us that we were fearfully and wonderfully made in our mothers’ womb, which verse 15 describes as “the lowest parts of the earth.” The same verse also tells us that we were made in secret, but our substance was not hid from the eyes of the LORD. The word “wrought” in verse 15 is a picture of how God formed the body of Adam from the dust of the ground:

Genesis 2:7 "And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul."

This word “wrought” is used in verses like:

Job 12:9 "Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the LORD hath wrought this?"

Acts 19:11 "And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:"

It was the hand of God that formed man out of the dust of the ground, in the same way, it was God who formed our bodies in our mothers’ womb, which Psalms 139:15 describes as “the lowest part of the earth.” Psalms 139:14 tells us that we were the marvellous works of God, and our souls knoweth right well. That means that deep inside the soul of every person, regardless of their religious persuasions, we know there is a Creator. That’s why Paul tells us in these verses:

Romans 1:19-20 "Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. 20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:"

No man will have an excuse when he shall stand before God in judgment, because God hath shewed it unto him, and his soul knoweth right well (“being understood by the things that are made”). Paul calls our bodies the “temple of God” in 1 Corinthians 3:16-17. The evidence of a Creator, though invisible to our naked eyes, are clearly seen from his creation: our physical bodies, the temple of God, being made by him and for him, so that we are without excuse for defiling the holy temple of God. The penalty for defiling the temple of God is that God will destroy us. The psalmist provides an explanation in Psalms 139:16.

Psalms 139:16 "Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them."

This verse tells us that the members of our body are “written” in a book that God has authored. Science has shown that our DNA is actually a book. Within the DNA is a set of genetic instructions that would determine the physical characteristics of our body: how we would grow from a single cell, the cell duplicates itself, the cells duplicate themselves, and they began to spread out and form different members of our body, like what this verse tells us “… which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.” Just look at how we were formed starting from a embryo, then to a foetus, born as a baby, and grow into adulthood. It is the genetic instructions embedded in our DNA that is driving the process, and God is the author of the “book” for our bodies, the temple of God. So what does it mean to defile the temple of God? Consider this passage of scripture:

Psalms 74:3-8 "Lift up thy feet unto the perpetual desolations; even all that the enemy hath done wickedly in the sanctuary. 4 Thine enemies roar in the midst of thy congregations; they set up their ensigns for signs. 5 A man was famous according as he had lifted up axes upon the thick trees. 6 But now they break down the carved work thereof at once with axes and hammers. 7 They have cast fire into thy sanctuary, they have defiled by casting down the dwelling place of thy name to the ground. 8 They said in their hearts, Let us destroy them together: they have burned up all the synagogues of God in the land."

Notice the word “defiled” in verse 7? The bible tells us in this passage of scripture how the temple of God is defiled, who are the ones doing it, and the motive in them wanting to defile the temple of God, which verse 7 calls “the dwelling place of thy name.” First of all, it is an enemy that “hath done wickedly in the sanctuary,” (verse 3) meaning that it was an enemy that came in from outside. Psalms 74:4 further tells us that “thine enemies roar in the midst of thy congregations,” meaning that the enemies are mixed in with God’s people. Paul tells us in:

Galatians 2:4 "And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:"

These are the false brethren brought into the congregation of God’s people unawares, and their motive is to come in privily to spy out our liberty we have in Christ Jesus, so that they might seek occasions against us, to bring us into bondage. Furthermore, the psalmists also added the detail in Psalms 74:4 that “they set up their ensigns for signs.” What are ensigns?

An ensign is a symbol, a distinctive mark, signifying or pointing to the identity of an organisation, society or nation. Examples of ensigns are a badge, flag, signum marks or patterns on a country’s currency. The purpose of an ensign is to distinguish by mark or ornament the identity of a nation, or the money for different countries, or the people working for different organisations, for example. The Devil is in the business of symbolism, and his kingdom is being externalized to the world using signs and symbols. Symbols are powerful, transcending every language in the world. No matter what language you speak, everyone recognises symbols. The psalmist tells us in Psalms 74:4 that the enemy is within the gate, and the way we identify them is to recognise their ensigns. The psalmist continues in the next verses:

Psalms 74:5-6 "A man was famous according as he had lifted up axes upon the thick trees. 6 But now they break down the carved work thereof at once with axes and hammers."

Notice they break down the carved work in the temple of God with axes and hammers they used to cut down thick trees? This passage of scripture connects to:

1 Kings 6:7 "And the house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready before it was brought thither: so that there was neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building."

The “house” in the context of this verse is the house that Solomon was building for the LORD. Notice that when the house was in building, there was to be neither hammer nor axe nor any tool of iron to be lifted up upon it. Connect this to Psalms 74:5-6, where axes and hammers were the tools that the enemy used to break down the carved work in the house of God. In 1 Kings 7:15-16, king Solomon made two identical pillars in the house for God — Jachin and Boaz, just like the double-stranded helical structure of our DNA. Count the height of the pillars:

1 Kings 7:15-16 "For he cast two pillars of brass, of eighteen cubits high apiece: and a line of twelve cubits did compass either of them about. 16 And he made two chapiters of molten brass, to set upon the tops of the pillars: the height of the one chapiter was five cubits, and the height of the other chapiter was five cubits:"

There were two identical pillars of brass, eighteen cubits high a piece: 2 x 18 = 36 cubits. Furthermore, there were two chapiters of molten brass on top of the pillars, and the height of each chapiter was five cubits: 2 x 5 = 10 cubits. That makes the total heights of the chapiters, which was named Jachin and Boaz: 36 + 10 = 46 cubits. 46 happens to be the number of chromosomes in the genomic makeup of a human cell.

Connect this back to Psalms 74:5-6, we find the reason why the enemy used axes and hammers or any tool of iron to breakdown the carved works in the temple of God, the temple of God being our physical bodies which came from the human genome made up of 23 chromosome pairs. The psalmist continues in the next two verses:

Psalms 74:7-8 "They have cast fire into thy sanctuary, they have defiled by casting down the dwelling place of thy name to the ground. 8 They said in their hearts, Let us destroy them together: they have burned up all the synagogues of God in the land."

The “synagogues of God” is another term for the temple of God which according to Paul in 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 is our physical body. If we look at Genesis 2:7 when God formed man of the dust of the ground, afterwhich he breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul, it was the body which God hath made for the spirit and soul of man that came from the breath of life. This is the temple of God by which his Spirit may dwell in. The bible calls the body of Jesus “the temple of his body:”

John 2:19-21 "Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up. 20 Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days? 21 But he spake of the temple of his body."

In this passage of scripture, Jesus referred to his body as a temple, which he compared to the physical temple that the Jews took forty and six years to build. Notice there is that pattern of the number 46 again linked to the temple of God, the temple of God being our physical body of 46 chromosomes according to Paul in 1 Corinthians 3:16-17? Going back to Psalms 74:7-8, the enemies have “cast fire into thy sanctuary, they have defiled by casting down the dwelling place of thy name to the ground.” The temple of God is the dwelling place of God’s name, and the way the enemy defiles is to cast down the temple of God to the ground. They use “fire” as a means, on top of the axes and hammers or any tool of iron do that.

Psalms 139:16 "Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them."

If we think about the “book” in our physical body, which according to Psalms 139:16 “in thy book all my members were written” that contains the genetic codes which governs everything about our body, the temple of God, it would be this book of genetic codes that they are after. If they could “burn” this book like what the psalmist tells us in Psalms 74:7 “cast fire into thy sanctuary," they would have successfully defiled the temple of God by casting down the dwelling place of God’s name to the ground.

Exodus 20:25 "And if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone: for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it." 

Deuteronomy 27:5 "And there shalt thou build an altar unto the LORD thy God, an altar of stones: thou shalt not lift up any iron tool upon them."

Recall what the psalmist tells us in Psalms 74:5-6 that the enemy used axes and hammers as tools to break down the carved works in the temple of God? The altar of stone is the structure in the temple of God whereby offerings and sacrifices were made unto the LORD. This verse tells us that God’s altar cannot be build from hewn stone. Moreover, if we even lift up any iron tool upon the altar, we have “polluted” it. The word “pollute” is a synonymn of “defile,” the same word we find in 1 Corinthians 3:17. We also find the synonymns in:

Numbers 35:33 "So ye shall not pollute the land wherein ye are: for blood it defileth the land: and the land cannot be cleansed of the blood that is shed therein, but by the blood of him that shed it."

If the temple of our body is the temple of God, that means that if any form of “tool” is lifted up upon us, that would be to defile the temple of God. What kind of tools will defile the temple of God? We can lose a limb or an organ, and it would not defile us bodily. However, if the genetic instructions from our DNA are altered, that means that the book that God has authored in our body has been tampered with.

In fact, this was how the mRNA vaccine is supposed to work. In Pfizer’s own words: “when the mRNA COVID-19 vaccine is injected into the arm, these LNP (lipid nanoparticles) delivery vehicles shuttle the mRNA instructions into cells. These instructions are then unloaded, and the cell can make the spike protein, which induces immunity against the spike protein encoded by the mRNA.” In another words, the mRNA instructions shuttled by the LNPs are turning human cells into spike protein factories. Have you come across the term “software of life?” This was a term that Moderna’s CEO Stéphane Bancel have coined, and Dr Stephen Hoge, President of Moderna have expounded on the meaning:

“mRNA is really like a software molecule in biology. So our vaccine is like the software program to the body, which then goes and makes the [viral] proteins that can generate an immune response… So one of the theoretical advantages of putting mRNA in a vaccine is that the body then makes the viral protein in the exact same way the virus would have instructed the host to do.” — Dr Stephen Hoge

That was Moderna’s president openly admitting that the mRNA inside their COVID19 vaccine functions like software with the ability to reprogram human cells to make viral proteins. It was artificial mRNA injected into the body (temple of God) that hijacks the original instructions from the DNA, and superimpose their altered genetic instructions via the mRNA, and the mRNA in turn passes those information to the ribosomes factories for generating genetically-modified spike proteins needed to fight the so-called “virus.”

Well, if the mRNA vaccine is the tool by which the cells in your body have been turned into artificial spike protein factories, that means that you have allowed a “tool” to be lifted upon your body, the temple of God. That also means that the genetic instructions in your body have been altered: the book that God has authored in your body according to Psalms 139:16 has been tampered with, using modern technology as a tool. Recall what Paul tells us about the penalty for defiling the temple of God:

1 Corinthians 3:16-17 "Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are."

The bible is very clear: if any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy. If any man defile the “book” (Psalms 139:16) that God has authored in our body, him shall God destroy. We also find a reference in:

Ezra 6:11 "Also I have made a decree, that whosoever shall alter this word, let timber be pulled down from his house, and being set up, let him be hanged thereon; and let his house be made a dunghill for this." 

According to this verse, the penalty for altering the book that God has authored is equitable to that man’s house (his physical body) be made a dunghill. This agrees with what Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 that if any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy. Our study of Psalms 74:7-8 tells us that it is the “book” that God has authored in us that the enemy is after. The psalmist tells us that they will cast “fire” into the sanctuary of the temple of God to burn down the dwelling place of God’s name to the ground. What is in a sanctuary?

Exodus 25:8 "And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them."

Hebrews 9:2 "For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary."

The altar is a place where burnt offerings were made unto the LORD, and it is located “without the sanctuary.” (Ezekiel 43:21) The sanctuary is a place coming in from the altar in the temple of God where the Spirit of God dwells in. Inside the sanctuary we have the candlestick, the table and the shewbread. While the shewbread is a picture of Jesus the “bread of life” (John 6:48), I have also done a post previously on the golden candlestick:

Genesis 1:27 "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them."

Man was made in the image of God. There is a “book” that God has authored in us according to Psalms 139:16. It is this book in us that they are after. It is this book that bears the name of God that they are after. That’s why we read in Psalms 74:7-8 the enemy will cast fire into the sanctuary to cast down the dwelling place of God’s name to the ground. That’s why their goal is the “sanctuary” of our body where the Spirit of God dwells in, where that “book” is. If they could get to the sanctuary of the temple, they would be able to cast fire into the sanctuary to burn down the dwelling place of God’s name to the ground, to destroy that “book” that bears the name of God in us.

Quoting from an article I’ve come across:

Psalms 68:4 "Sing unto God, sing praises to his name: extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH [Hebrew: יָהּ Yâhh], and rejoice before him." Note: [insertion added]

Isn’t this the name of God “the dwelling place of thy name” according to Psalms 74:7?

Psalms 74:7-8 "They have cast fire into thy sanctuary, they have defiled by casting down the dwelling place of thy name to the ground. 8 They said in their hearts, Let us destroy them together: they have burned up all the synagogues of God in the land."

Notice also that their goal is “all the synagogues of God in the land.” That would be translated to the temple of our body in every single person living in this world. That means they will attempt to do achieve this feat in a one fell swoop (“let us destroy them together”) via the mark of the beast as we read in Revelation 13.

Revelation 13:16-17 "And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: 17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name."

The mark of the beast implemented on a worldwide scale will be the means that they will burn down all the temples of God in the land, to burn down the dwelling place of God’s name to the ground, to make way for that man of sin, the son of perdition:

2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 "Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God."

Paul tells us that there will be a “falling away” first, at the same time that man of sin, the son of perdition would be revealed. Notice in verse 4 that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. The “falling away” must happen so that that man of sin, the son of perdition could sit in what used to be the temple of God. That means that the “falling away” is the implementation of the mark of the beast whereby the False Prophet would cause all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads. That, according to Psalms 74:7, would be the enemy that have cast “fire” into the sanctuary of God, to burn down the dwelling place of his name to the ground, the “book” that God has authored in our body according to Psalms 139:16.
