If God is a supernatural being, and Jesus being the Word of God, doesn’t it make sense that the 66 books of the Holy Bible that God has inspired and preserved for mankind is also a supernatural book? Before I go on to expound from scripture what I meant by this, I just want to give a brief testimony of how I came to know about the 1611 King James Bible, or rather, how the word of God came to me, a sinner.
A brief testimony
Well, it was in the early part of 2010, when I started to attend church as a new Christian. It was a megachurch, probably the largest church in Singapore now. The senior pastor of this church was a charismatic figure, and the church was well-known for its wealth and splendor. As a family, we enjoyed the church services, and every Sunday we would look forward to attend church. To me then, it was just like watching a movie. In fact, we were literally in a cinema watching the pastor preach his sermons on the screen. I enjoyed the worship services the most, as the music was contemporary and the performance was amazing. The worship leaders had voices like professional singers.
So, practically we were in that church every single week, because our flesh loved it. The sermons too, were preached in a very charismatic manner. It was like listening to some motivational speakers speaking to you live. I absolutely loved those sermons, and I would regularly purchase them and listen to them while on my way to work everyday. This went on for the next 3 years, until the early part of 2012, that something happened to me, and I was forced to leave Singapore for a season. Because of that, I was unable to attend the Sunday service for the next few months, and it grieved me because I loved their church service and time spent in the worship. It was then, when I had nothing to do during my free time after work, that I started to go to youtube and search for things pertaining to Christianity. I wanted to find out more about God. That was when I chanced upon some Christian teachings online that I never knew existed.
I was particularly drawn to teachings about Creation and the End Times. It was also during this time that I started to notice people arguing online about the Holy Bible. This to me was something new, because the megachurch that we attended preach from all kinds of bibles. So, in that sense, every bible is the same. “I thought every bible version is the word of God??” I said to myself. After I returned to Singapore, I still went back to that church, but I would also visit youtube for topics on Creation, End Times and Bible controversy as these things had piqued an interest in me.
That went on until 2013, when I chanced upon teachings on the 1611 King James Bible showing the supernatural numerical patterns preserved in the 66 books of the Holy Bible, that I was convicted to pick up the King James Bible and study it for myself. I searched the word of God diligently everyday, and through much prayers and diligent studies, I was fully persuaded that the 1611 King James Bible is a supernatural book and the pure word of God. Why am I so adamant about the 1611 King James Bible? The following which I am about to share will answer this question.
God’s prophecy on Bible translation
2 Peter 1:20-21 "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost."
The Holy Bible was given to us in a span of about 2,000 years, from Genesis to Revelation. According to studies, there were some 40 men who penned the 66 books of the Holy Bible. Those were men from different ages and different locations. The 39 books of the Old Testament were mostly given to us in Biblical Hebrew (parts of the Book of Daniel and the Book of Ezra were given to us in Biblical Aramaic). The 27 books of the New Testament were given to us in Koine Greek. Yet, the words agree together in one accord and one spirit, and they flow with such harmony and impeccable perfection.
1 Corinthians 14:21 "In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord."
In this verse, Apostle Paul was quoting from the passage in Isaiah 28:11 where it says: "For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people." This goes back to some 700 years before in the Old Testament times when God promised to speak to his people in another tongue: Greek in the New Testament. But notice the change: the "tongue" in Isaiah 28:11 has become "tongues" in 1 Corinthians 14:21. Therefore God has promised in the New Testament to translate his words into other languages, and he has done so in giving us the 1611 King James Bible in the English language, as well as Bibles in other languages which are also based on the Masoretic Text for the Old Testament and Textus Receptus for the New Testament.
Translation of the 1611 King James Bible
In 1604, King James I of England authorized that a new translation of the Bible into English be started.
Ecclesiastes 8:4 "Where the word of a king is, there is power: and who may say unto him, What doest thou?"
The King's order was carried out with utmost zeal and knowledge in an orderly manner. Without any question there never has been a greater group of scholars gathered together at one time than the translators of the 1611 King James Version.
Proverbs 24:6 "For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety."
The most qualified of the entire English speaking world were summoned. They were all eminent scholars, and they all had great reverence for the Word of God, being wholly committed to its inspiration and infallibility. No one can study the lives of those men who gave us the King James Bible without being impressed with their profound and varied learning. Below are just three examples of what kind of men the translators of the King James Bible were:
JOHN BOIS was able to read the Bible in Hebrew when five years of age! When 14 he was a proficient Greek scholar and for years he spent from 4 o'clock in the morning til eight at night in the Cambridge library studying manuscripts and languages.
JOHN CHEDDERTON knew Greek, Hebrew and Latin as well as you and I know English, and better.
LANCELOT ANDREWS was the overall chairman, who was fluent in twenty languages, the greatest linguist of his day. He spent five hours a day in prayer and was so respected by the kings that orders were given, whenever Andrews was in court, there was to be no levity, no joking.
Originally 54 scholars were on the list but deaths and withdrawals reduced it finally to 47. These men were organized into six groups which were to meet separately. Two groups met at Cambridge, two at Oxford and two at Westminster. Each group was designated a certain portion of Scripture to translate into the English language.
Each scholar first made his own translation, then passed it on to be reviewed by each other member of his group. When each section had completed a book of the Bible, it was sent to the other five groups for their independent criticism. In this way each book went through the hands of the entire body of translators. To guard further against possible errors another committee was formed by selecting two from each of the three companies.
John 18:20 "Jesus answered him, I spake openly to the world; I ever taught in the synagogue, and in the temple, whither the Jews always resort; and in secret have I said nothing."
All of the work was done in the open. Then the entire version came before this select group where all differences of opinion were ironed out. It put the finishing touches upon the work, and in 1611 prepared it for the printers. The whole translation took a total of 7 years: from 1604 to 1611.
Hasn’t God finished with his book after he inspired his words in the original languages preserved in the Old and New Testament?
Psalms 12:6 "The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times."
Oftentimes, we will come across teachings about the Bible which says that the authenticity of God's words solely belongs to the Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek manuscripts. Therefore, to understand the full measure of God's words, we must go back and interpret from those base manuscripts. No doubt those are the very inspired words of God, which BTW, I'm referring to:
Masoretic Text (1524-25 Jacob Ben Chayyim text, 2nd edition of the Rabbinic Bible published by Daniel Bomberg) for the Old Testament;
Textus Receptus (an edition of the Greek texts of the New Testament established by Erasmus in the 16th century) for the New Testament.
But ancient Hebrew, Aramaic and Koine Greek are relatively unknown languages in current times. Hardly anybody speak these languages today. This is where we must question:
Has God stopped working after he gave us his words in the form of Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek?
Can God inspire the translators of the Bible so that his words are translated accurately and in faithful adherence to the Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek manuscripts?
Has God finished with the Bible after he gave us the book of Revelation? What about the ordering of the holy Books, the chapters and verse numbers? Are these also inspired?
Job 32:8 "But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding."
Ecclesiastes 3:14 "I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him."
Today, we have the Holy Bible in its translated form and final form. There is an immutable order about the arrangement of the books, chapters and verses of the Holy Bible. Every Holy Bible will have the same number of books, chapters and verses ordered in the same way and the same manner. Who has ordained the order and arrangement of the books, chapters and verses in the Bible? Who is the author of the Bible? Was it God, or was it men?
John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."
There is only one eternal truth, and the eternal truth is the word of God, and the same is God. While the original languages of the Holy Bible are not English, can God inspire the translation? Today, we have the Holy Bible in its translated form and final form. Do note that even in a translation, there are choices of words to be made. So, who translated the Holy Bible for us? Was it God, or was it men?
Consider this, that there are only two places in the entire Holy Bible whereby we find the word "inspiration:"
Job 32:8 "But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding."
2 Timothy 3:16 "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:"
If what we have in the 66 books of the Holy Bible is scripture as God has promised that he will preserve for us, every word of God in its translated form, the choice of words, or even the format of the Holy Bible, must have been inspired by God. God was the one who owns the translation of the Holy Bible. He was the one who inspired the translators of the Holy Bible so that his words are translated accurately and in faithful adherence to the manuscripts in the original Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek languages.
The 1611 King James Bible is the original “Holy Bible”
1 Corinthians 14:33 "For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints."
Do you know that the term "Holy Bible" was first used on the title of the first edition of the 1611 King James Bible? God is an "author" according to this verse, but he is not the author of confusion. According to wikipedia:
The title of the first edition of the translation, in Early Modern English, was "THE HOLY BIBLE, Conteyning the Old Teſtament, AND THE NEW: Newly Tranſlated out of the Originall tongues: & with the former Tranſlations diligently compared and reuiſed, by his Maiesties ſpeciall Comandement".
It is no coincidence that the word “holy” is found exactly 611 times in the 1611 King James Bible. The number 611 = 1 x 611 bears the pattern of the number 1611. The Holy Bible is every word of God. The 1611 King James Bible is every word of God. This number pattern is one of God's signature written on his holy word with his finger. Amen.
Exodus 31:18 "¶ And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God."
God wrote his testimony on two tables of stone (Old Testament and New Testament). This also goes to show that God's word is not just an idea or concept. The words of the LORD are like words graven in the stone: never to be changed, added or removed for eternity.
Job 19:23-24 "Oh that my words were now written! oh that they were printed in a book! 24 That they were graven with an iron pen and lead in the rock for ever!"
The term "the finger of God" is found exactly 4 times in the King James Bible. In fact, God wrote on 4 tables of stone in total. Moses broke the first two (Exodus 32:19), and God wrote another two for him (Exodus 34:4). The words of the LORD are graven in stone. Just like how he has left his signature on the two tables of stone, God has also left his signature on the two Testaments that he has given to us in 1611.
“Every word of God” in the 1611 King James Bible
Consider the linkage between these three interconnected verses:
Deuteronomy 8:3 "... that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live."
Matthew 4:4 "But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."
Luke 4:4 "And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God."
These verses are witnesses one to another, and there are exactly 3 verses in the 66 books of the Holy Bible where the same words are repeated. This goes along with:
2 Corinthians 13:1 "This is the third time I am coming to you. In the mouth of two or three witnesses shall every word be established."
Do the math:
Add the chapter number: 8 + 4 + 4 = 16;
Add the verse number: 3 + 4 + 4 = 11;
Combine the two: 16 and 11.
1611 was the year which the 1611 King James Bible was officially published.
John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
The 66 books of the Holy Bible is "the truth" with us. This term "the truth" is found exactly 87 times in the 1611 King James Bible. The book of Deuteronomy is the 5th book, Matthew is the 40th book and Luke is the 42nd book of the Holy Bible. If we do the sum: 5 + 40 + 42 = 87. The 87th chapter of the Holy Bible is Exodus 37, and that was where we read about the golden candlestick, in Exodus 37:17-24.
The translation of the King James Bible was announced on July-22, 1604. Someone did a count on the number of items on the candlestick. What is in the golden candlestick? There were:
1 shaft and 6 branches, or 7 lamps;
22 sets of 3 items consisting of a bowl, a knop and a flower.
There is that pattern of July-22, 1604 embedded in the configuration of the golden candlestick:
16 bears the pattern of 1 + 6 = 7 » 7 lamps consisting of 1 shaft and 6 branches going out of the sides thereof. Exodus 37:17-18 even tells us how the 7 lamps are to be divided: in a 1 + 6 configuration.
04 bears the pattern of 4 = 2 + 2 » There are 22 sets of bowl, knop and flower in the golden candlestick. Within the number 22 is the pattern of the number 4 embedded: 2 x 2 = 4.
July-22 » July is the 7th month of the year. There are 7 lamps in the configuration of the golden candlestick, and the 7 lamps are decorated with 22 sets of bowl, knop and flower in items of 3. So, 22 x 3 = 66. That would be the number of books in the canon of the Holy Bible!
Proverbs 22:12 "The eyes of the LORD preserve knowledge, and he overthroweth the words of the transgressor."
The eyes of the LORD preserve knowledge, just like a book. There are two testaments in the 66 books of the Holy Bible: Old Testament and New Testament, like the left eye and the right eye. Interestingly, the term "eyes of the Lord" is found exactly 22 times in the 1611 King James Bible. If we count the items on the golden candlestick, we will find that there are exactly 22 sets of bowl, knop and flower decorations, making a total of 66 items. We also find exactly 66 books in the canon of the Holy Bible, and the Holy Bible is where the LORD preserved his knowledge. Moreover, 1604 was the year the King James Bible began and 1611 was the year when the King James Bible was completed, and the whole translation process took a total of 7 years (1604 to 1611).
Psalms 12:6-7 "The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. 7 Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever."
The 1611 King James Bible does not stand alone by itself but was the culmination of six English bibles before it. If we consider the lineage of the King James Bible:
Tyndale Bible (1525)
Coverdales Bible (1535)
Matthews Bible (1537)
Great Bible (1539)
Geneva Bible (1560)
Bishops Bible (1568)
King James Bible (1611)
The translation of the words of the LORD in the English language starting from the Tyndale Bible was purified 7 times before it was finally completed in the 1611 King James Bible. Download video of documentary here.
William Tyndale was famous for his last words while being burnt at the stake in Belgium. He cried: “Lord, open the king of England's eyes!” It was said that some 83% of the words in the 1611 King James Bible drew from Tyndale’s translation.
Do not interpretations belong to God?
Luke 4:32 "And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word was with power."
The true Holy Bible will astonish you. Sometime ago, I did a search using the pure bible search software on the word “language” just out of curiosity, and I was instantly astonished at the results.
This word “language” is found in 22 verses in 16 chapters and 11 books. Notice the pattern of the number 22 and 1611 embedded in this word? If we do a search, one will find that the phrase “the will of God” is found exactly 22 times in the 1611 King James Bible, while the 16 chapters and 11 books bears the pattern of the number 1611. Is this mere coincidence?
I know many Christians who hate the 1611 King James Bible would like to believe that this is just a coincidence. They do not like to be shown evidences that the 66 books of the Holy Bible is a supernatural book, not only because it goes against what they believe, but it also goes against the modern scholarship (they love) which asserts that God has not wholly and fully preserved his word. For a born again believer, however, the pure word of God will indeed astonish him.
1 Corinthians 14:27 "If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two [Hebrew, Greek], or at the most by three [Hebrew, Greek, Aramaic], and that by course; and let one [English] interpret." Note: [insertions] added.
Today, perhaps very few people in this world will understand biblical Hebrew, biblical Aramaic or biblical Greek. If they do for Hebrew, chances are they don't know Aramaic or Greek. But God has interpreted these unknown tongues for us using one language, and he has preserved the volume of his words and ordered them in one canonical form, in the final form that we have today.
Genesis 40:8 "Do not interpretations belong to God?"
Of course. Absolutely! Amen!! My friends, the degree to which you perceive the Holy Bible is very important. In fact, it is as important as the difference between heaven and hell. How do you view the word of God? Do you have a high view of the Holy Bible that you are reading? Do you have a low view of the Holy Bible that you are reading? Or, do you view your Holy Bible as your very life? Is God not the most High? Is he not the most High in your life? To me, it is not enough to just have a high view of the Holy Bible, and this is where a lot of Christians are struggling at. The Holy Bible is the perfect word of God: every letter, every number, every word, every book, every chapter and every verse numbering, the order and arrangement of every word and number precisely and accurately used, divinely inspired, preserved and translated. God is the sole Author of the entire Holy Bible for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness.
Thank you Max, truly i believe there’s much to show that you are lead by our eternal Father and the blessed Spirit of truth all in our Lord and Saviour.
Amen ❤️🙌🙏🎚️
