I would like to continue from where I have stopped at Pharaoh King of Egypt (Part 27), where I have started looking at the circumstances in Revelation 13 leading up to the implementation of the mark of the beast, in a worldwide event revealed by Paul in 2 Thessalonians 2:3 as the “falling away” (Greek: apostasia). The implementation of the mark of the beast will happen in the “fourth kingdom,” which according to Daniel:
Daniel 7:23 "Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces."
The fourth beast in Daniel’s vision shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth. We find another reference of the “fourth kingdom” in this verse, which is Daniel’s interpretation of king Nebuchadnezzar’s dream:
Daniel 2:40 "And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise."
According as the Spirit of God has revealed unto Daniel through the dream of king Nebuchadnezzar, this is how the fourth kingdom is like:
Daniel 2:31-33 "¶ Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible. 32 This image’s head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his thighs of brass, 33 His legs of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay."
This image was the image of a man whose head was of fine gold, and breast and arms of silver, and belly and thighs of brass. His legs were of iron, but his feet were part of iron and part of clay. Then, Daniel proceeded to interpret the vision:
Daniel 2:36-38 "¶ This is the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king. 37 Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory. 38 And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold."
Notice how Daniel calls king Nebuchadnezzar “thou art this head of gold,” referring to the first kingdom, the kingdom of Babylon? In the same way, “the beast” in Revelation 13 is not only the fourth kingdom, but he is also that “little horn” (Daniel 7:8, 8:9). Daniel continues in the next verse:
Daniel 2:39 "And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth."
The second kingdom inferior to the first was represented by the arms and breast of silver on the great image, and the third kingdom of brass was the belly and thighs of brass on the great image. Daniel continues on the next verse:
Daniel 2:40 "And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise."
This is the fourth kingdom as represented by the legs of iron on the great image. However, the feet were part iron and part clay:
Daniel 2:41 "And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay."
Because the feet were part iron and part clay, therefore the fourth kingdom at the latter end shall be divided, even though there shall be in it of the strength of iron. Daniel continues in the next verse:
Daniel 2:42 "And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken."
The fourth kingdom shall be partly strong and partly broken. Moreover, Daniel reveals in the next verse that they shall “mingle themselves with the seed of men,” the seed of men being a reference to our DNA.
Daniel 2:43 "And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay."
If we think about the great image of a man going from the crown of the head to the bottom of the feet as a timeline of kingdoms:
The first kingdom, the head of gold, is the kingdom of Babylon, and stretches from the crown of the head to the bottom of the neck on the great image.
The second kingdom, the breast and arms of silver, continues from the end of the first kingdom of gold at the bottom of the neck, and stretches to the top of the belly of the great image.
The third kingdom, the belly and thighs of brass, continues from the end of the second kingdom at the top of the belly, and stretches to the thighs of the great image.
The fourth kingdom, the legs of iron and feet of part iron and part clay, continues from the end of the third kingdom at the thighs, and stretches to the feet of the great image.
The second and third kingdoms are revealed in these verses:
Daniel 8:19-21 "And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the indignation: for at the time appointed the end shall be. 20 The ram which thou sawest having two horns are the kings of Media and Persia. 21 And the rough goat is the king of Grecia: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king."
The second kingdom of silver is the kingdom of Media and Persia, and the third kingdom of brass is the kingdom of Grecia.
Daniel 8:22 "Now that being broken, whereas four stood up for it, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power."
Verse 21 tells us that the great horn that is between the eyes of the rough goat which smote the ram of two horns is the first king of Grecia. Again, there is that idea of a king and his kingdom showed in this example: the king being the horn and the kingdom being the body. In verse 22, the great horn was broken, and in its place shall stand up four horns representing four kings standing up out of the third kingdom. These four kings, each ruling over his own kingdom, were the beginning of the fourth kingdom as represented by the legs of iron on the great image, whose feet were part iron and part clay.
Daniel 8:23 "And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up."
Having the characteristics of the second kingdom of Medes and Persia, the four kings of the fourth kingdom, while having their separate dominions, yet, they are one kingdom. Verse 23 tells us that at “the latter time of their kingdom,” which is a reference to the feet of the great image part of iron and part of clay in the timeline of kingdoms. Recall what Daniel tells us in:
Daniel 2:43 "And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay."
As mentioned, the term “seed of men” is a reference to our DNA. This goes to show that at the latter time of the fourth kingdom, the genes of mankind will be tampered with. Daniel tells us that “they” shall mingle themselves with the seed of men, “they” being a reference to the fourth kingdom of iron. Who are “they” in Daniel 2:43 referring to the fourth kingdom? Daniel tells us in:
Daniel 10:12-20 "Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words. 13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia… 20 Then said he, Knowest thou wherefore I come unto thee? and now will I return to fight with the prince of Persia: and when I am gone forth, lo, the prince of Grecia shall come."
There is this mention of the “prince of the kingdom of Persia” who withstood the angel that was sent to pass a message from God to Daniel. These are no flesh and blood beings, but angelic entities of the spiritual realm, and they are rulers of a kingdom, spiritual Persia, the second kingdom of silver. There was also Michael, the archangel (Jude 1:9). He was one of the chief princes, the prince of spiritual Israel (Daniel 10:21; 12:1), and was sent to help the angel who was withstood by the prince of the kingdom of Persia and the kings of Persia. There was also the prince of Grecia (Daniel 10:20), a ruler of spiritual Grecia, the third kingdom of brass. These are no flesh and blood kings and princes, but angelic beings, the spiritual rulers of the second kingdom of silver, the kingdom of spiritual Media and Persia (Daniel 8:20), and of the third kingdom of brass (Daniel 8:21), the kingdom of spiritual Grecia, which Paul reveals in:
Ephesians 6:12 "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."
These are the spiritual entities that are at war with the kingdom of God, the devils that born again believers are wrestling against, namely: [1] principalities, [2] powers, [3] rulers of the darkness of this world, and [4] spiritual wickedness in high places. Connect this back to Daniel 2:43 which says that “they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men,” those would be the “they” that shall mingle themselves with the seed of men. Those would be the spiritual rulers of the fourth kingdom, the kings and princes of the kingdom of iron, by which the genes of mankind will be tampered with. That’s why Daniel tells us that the feet of the great image would be partly strong and partly broken, even as iron is not mixed with miry clay. Jesus connects the day of his coming to the days of Noah:
Matthew 24:37-39 "But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. 38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, 39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be."
Man was made in the image of God, and it was during the days of Noah when the genes of mankind were corrupted when the sons of God (fallen angels) took them wives of the daughters of men, and produced giants.
Genesis 6:4 "There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown."
Though born of women, giants were genetically diverse from mankind, their genetic makeup having being altered with the genes of angelic beings. We saw that in Og king of Bashan who was a remnant of the giants, whose bedstead was 9 cubits x 4 cubits, or 4.11m x 1.82m. Og himself could be about 12 feet or 3.66m tall. We also saw that in David versus Goliath. Goliath was a remnant of the giants, a distant offspring of the sons of God and the daughters of men. Bodily-wise, he was much bigger and stronger than a normal human being. His height was six cubits and a span, or 2.97m.
Goliath's spear head alone was 600 shekels of iron (6.8kg). Normal spear head weighs about 0.5kg at most. Goliath's coat of mail was 5,000 shekels of brass. Brass is about 10% heavier than iron, so 5,000 shekels of brass is about 62kg. Goliath was a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, definitely not a weakling. On top of the coat of mail and the spear, Goliath also carried a helmet of brass, greaves of brass on his legs, a target of brass between his shoulders, a sword, and a shield. Giants were not just big but were very strong physically.
1 Corinthians 15:39-40 "All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds. 40 There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another."
All flesh is not the same flesh: the genetic makeup of man is different from the genetic makeup of angelic beings. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body. Giants were products of a spiritual body and a natural body. They were the mingling of the seed of men with the seed of angelic beings.
Leviticus 19:19 "Ye shall keep my statutes. Thou shalt not let thy cattle gender with a diverse kind: thou shalt not sow thy field with mingled seed: neither shall a garment mingled of linen and woollen come upon thee."
God would not even allow the gendering of cattles with a diverse kind. The term “mingled seed” is mentioned in this verse. Connect this with what we read in Daniel 2:43 “they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men.” Daniel tells us that in the last days, the “seed of men” will again be tampered with. Jesus confirms that in Matthew 24:37 that as the days of Noah were, so shall the coming of the Son of man be. Moreover, Jesus added in the next verse that “for as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage.” The entire world would be oblivious to the great danger that is coming upon them. All, except the few Noahs left in our generation. To continue in Part 29.
