This post continues from where I have stopped at Pharaoh King of Egypt (Part 28), where I have discussed from scripture the great image in Daniel’s interpretation of king Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, in Daniel 2:36-43. That was an image of a man which was comprised of the head of gold, the breast and arms of silver, the belly and thighs of brass, and the legs of iron which feet are part iron and part clay, signifying the timeline of kingdoms going from the crown of the head to the sole of the feet, namely:
the first kingdom of gold, Babylon;
the second kingdom of silver, Media and Persia;
the third kingdom of brass, Grecia; and
the fourth kingdom of iron.
Those are not just earthly kingdoms ruled over by men, but there are spiritual powers ruling over them, which according to Paul:
Ephesians 6:12 "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."
These spiritual powers are the true enemies of mankind, working from behind the scene. These are the forces of darkness that born again believers are called to wrestle against. Also, we have another reference of the four kingdoms from this verse:
Daniel 5:4 "They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, of brass, of iron, of wood, and of stone."
These are the spiritual powers ruling over the kingdoms of men: the gods of gold, and of silver, of brass, of iron, of wood, and of stone. These are the little-g gods by which Belshazzar, son of king Nebuchadnezzar lifted up himself against the Lord of heaven. Moses tells us in this verse:
Deuteronomy 29:18 "Lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from the LORD our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood;"
These are gods of nations, the gods of earthly kingdoms ruled over by men by which the hearts of men are turned away from worshipping the only one and true God: the LORD of hosts and the God of gods. Collectively, these little-g gods are called Principalities, Powers, Rulers of the Darkness of this World, and Spiritual Wickedness in High Places. Daniel tells us in:
Daniel 2:43 "And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay."
The latter end of the fourth kingdom will be where the Principalities, Powers, Rulers of the Darkness of this World, and Spiritual Wickedness in High Places shall mingle themselves with the “seed of men,” a reference to our DNA, and that will be through the mark of the beast that will be implanted in the right hand or in the forehead. The bible tells us in:
Revelation 14:9-11 "And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, 10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: 11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name."
There is not only a physical, but also a spiritual consequence for the people who shall receive the mark of the beast in their right hand or in the forehead, and the consequence is that they shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the Lamb and the holy angels for ever and ever. There will be no forgiveness of sin. Therefore, the mark of the beast will not be just a medical procedure, but something far more sinister. We think about giants in the bible, which came as a result of the mingling of the sons of God and the daughters of men. These things will happen again in the latter end of the fourth kingdom via the mark of the beast.
Revelation 13:18 "Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six."
The mark of the beast is not just signified by the number of the beast, it is also signified by the number of a man. In the dream of king Nebuchadnezzar in Daniel 2, we saw the four kingdoms being signified by the great image of a man: [1] the head of gold, [2] the breast and arms of silver, [3] the belly and thighs of brass, and [4] the legs of iron which feet are part iron and part clay. However, the four kingdoms are also being signified by the four beasts in Daniel 7:
Daniel 7:2-3 "Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea. 3 And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another."
Notice in this passage of scripture “the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea?” First and foremost, what is “wind” in the Holy Bible? Jesus tells us:
John 3:6-8 "That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. 8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit."
That which is born of flesh is flesh, but that which is born of Spirit is spirit. The flesh and the spirit are opposites, one of another. Then he tells us the wind bloweth where it listeth, you can tell the wind is there, even though you can’t see it with your eyes, just like how you can see a person in his flesh, but you can't see the spirit in him. You can’t see spirit with your fleshly eyes, just like how you can't see wind. Therefore, the “four winds of the heaven” in Daniel 7:3 is a reference to spirit. Paul also tells us in:
Ephesians 2:2 "Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:"
There is an evil spirit which Paul reveals as “the prince of the power of the air,” that is working in the children of disobedience, “the air” being a reference to wind, and Paul calls it a spirit. Likewise, the Holy Ghost is also a wind, a “rushing mighty wind” according to Acts 2:1-4. This is the Spirit that is at work in “obedient children” (1 Peter 1:14) as opposed to the spirit that now worketh in the “children of disobedience” (Ephesians 2:2). Link this back to Daniel 7:2 “the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea,” if the four winds of heaven is a reference to the spiritual rulers of the four kingdoms, what about the sea?
Psalms 18:16 "He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters."
Revelation 17:15 "And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues."
The waters are the peoples, multitudes, nations and tongues, and it is from many waters that God drew born again believers out of. We have another reference in:
Exodus 2:10 "And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water."
Moses was so named because he was drew out of the water, even as born again believers were also drew out of many waters, referring to the peoples, multitudes, nations and tongues. Therefore, in Daniel 7:2 “the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea,” it is the spiritual rulers of the four kingdoms that strove upon the peoples, multitudes, nations and tongues.
Genesis 6:1-4 "And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, 2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. 3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. 4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown."
The sons of God were spirits, and the daughters of men were flesh. When the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, they produced giants. In like manner, when the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea, four great beasts came out of the sea. Therefore, Daniel 7:2-3 is a picture of the sons of God and the daughters of men producing giants, mighty men of old, and men of renown. The four beasts were the four spiritual kingdoms on earth that came out of the peoples, multitudes, nations and tongues, diverse one from another. Daniel 7:4-7 tells us the appearance of these spiritual kingdoms on earth:
The first beast was like a lion, and had eagle’s wings;
The second beast was like to a bear, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it;
The third beast was like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl;
The fourth beast was dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly, and had iron teeth and ten horns.
The fourth beast is the fourth kingdom upon earth:
Daniel 7:23 "Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces."
It is the same fourth kingdom of iron as represented by the legs of iron and feet of part iron and part clay in the great image of a man in king Nebuchadnezzar’s dream:
Daniel 2:40 "And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise."
Notice in the vision of Daniel, he only described the fourth beast as “dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth… and it had ten horns.” (Daniel 7:7) Apostle John provided more details on the appearance of the fourth beast:
Revelation 13:1-2 "And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. 2 And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority."
This would be the appearance of the fourth beast in Daniel’s vision:
scarlet coloured. (Revelation 17:3)
having seven heads and ten horns. (Daniel 7:7; Revelation 13:1, 17:3, 17:7)
upon his horns ten crowns. (Revelation 13:1)
upon his heads the name of blasphemy. (Revelation 13:1)
like unto a leopard. (Revelation 13:2)
the feet of a bear. (Revelation 13:2)
his mouth as the mouth of a lion. (Revelation 13:2)
great iron teeth. (Daniel 7:7, 7:19)
nails of brass. (Daniel 7:19)
Notice that the fourth beast is not only a strange amalgamation of the three beasts before it: the lion, the bear and the leopard; but it also has the characteristics of the great red dragon (Satan), having seven heads and ten horns:
Revelation 12:3 "And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads."
Also to be noted is that the great image of a man in the dream of king Nebuchadnezzar in Daniel 2 is also a strange amalgamation of the first kingdom of gold, the second kingdom of silver, the third kingdom of brass, and the fourth kingdom of iron. This goes to show that the fourth kingdom of iron will not only have the characteristics of the first three kingdoms before it, but it is the embodiment of the great image of the man itself. In Daniel 3, we have a picture of the great image of a man that the whole earth: the peoples, multitudes, nations and tongues; will be caused to worship according to Revelation 13.
Revelation 13:14-15 "And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. 15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed."
Daniel 3:1 tells us that the height of the image was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof six cubits. 60 cubits by 6 cubits makes the pattern of the number 66. That is a reference to the 66 books of the Holy Bible, the written word of God. The word of God is God, and so the image of the beast would be a reference to that man of sin, the son of perdition who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. (2 Thessalonians 2:3-4) Interestingly, this term “the beast” is found exactly 54 times in 46 verses in the 1611 King James Bible. While 46 is the number of chromosomes in a man, 54 is (3 x 3 x 3) + (3 x 3 x 3) bears that pattern of the number 666. Revelation 13:16-17 tells us that the false prophet shall cause the whole earth to receive the mark of the beast in their right hand or in their foreheads. Link this to:
Daniel 2:43 "And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay."
The mark of the beast will be the gateway by which “they,” referring to the spiritual rulers of the fourth kingdom, shall mingle themselves with the seed of man. However, unlike the days of Noah when the sons of God took them wives of the daughters of men and produced giants, the mark of the beast will be to hijack the body at the DNA level, to allow the genes of the sons of God to be mingled with the genes of mankind, so that the body will be forced to undergo artificial evolution from within. I’ve provided more details in Part 26 of this series of messages. Daniel 7:23 tells us that the fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth. Connect this to the leviathan in:
Job 41:15-34 "His scales are his pride… 34 He beholdeth all high things: he is a king over all the children of pride."
Job tells us that the leviathan is a king, and Job 41:15 tells us that his scales are his pride: “scales” = “pride.” This is the bible connecting spiritual things with spiritual. Not only is the leviathan a king, but he is also “a king over all the children of pride.” That means that the Devil has a spiritual kingdom on earth by which he is served by all the “children of pride.” The children of pride is pride, just like what Jesus tells us in John 3:6 “that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.” Scales (pride) on the leviathan is the outer covering by which he is identified. Likewise, the children of pride are the collective identity, the “scales” of the fourth kingdom by which the beast is king over. The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom of iron upon the earth, and in the latter end of this kingdom, it will be externalized by those who have received the mark of the beast in their right hand or in their foreheads. Collectively, they will form the feet of the great image, part iron and part clay. To continue in Part 30.
