This post continues from where I have left off at Pharaoh King of Egypt (Part 29), where I have discussed from scripture how the four spiritual kingdoms of gold, silver, brass and iron came as a result of the four winds of the heaven which strove upon the great sea, and four great beasts came up from the seas, diverse one from another. These four great beasts are the four spiritual kingdoms in the timeline of kingdoms signified by the great image of a man in king Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, going from the crown of the head to the sole of the feet. Solomon tells us in this verse:
Ecclesiastes 1:9 "The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun."
That which is done is that which shall be done. Link this to what Jesus said in:
Matthew 24:37 "But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
In this verse, he compared his second coming to the days of Noah, and I have covered that in detail, in Part 28 and Part 29 of this series of messages. That will happen in the latter days of the fourth kingdom, when the “seed of men” (Daniel 2:43) referring to our DNA shall again be tampered with, as in the days of Noah when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they produced giants. I’ve also said that the mark of the beast will be the gateway by which the spiritual rulers of the fourth kingdom shall mingle themselves with mankind. Compare these two passages of scriptures:
1 Corinthians 3:16-17 "Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? 17 If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are."
2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 "Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God."
Our body is the “temple of God” and the Spirit of God dwelleth in us. However, when the temple of God shall be hijacked at the DNA level, that will be when that man of sin, the son of perdition shall sit in what used to be the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. Paul further tells us in 1 Corinthians 3:16-17 that if any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy. That is a reference to 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 when that man of sin, the son of perdition shall sit in the temple of God, the temple of God having been defiled by the mark of the beast. What used to be the temple of God has now become the temple of that man of sin, the son of perdition, via the mark of the beast. Daniel tells us that the latter time of the fourth kingdom will be symbolized by the feet of the great image, part iron and part clay. That is a reference to:
Daniel 8:19 "And he said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the indignation: for at the time appointed the end shall be."
Prophesying of the latter time of the fourth kingdom, angel Gabriel who was sent to give Daniel understanding of his vision said in the next verses:
Daniel 8:20-21 "The ram which thou sawest having two horns are the kings of Media and Persia. 21 And the rough goat is the king of Grecia: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king."
In his vision, Daniel saw the future of the kingdoms after the Babylonian empire. The ram having two horns is the second kingdom of silver: the kingdom of Media and Persia, and the rough goat is the third kingdom of brass: the kingdom of Grecia. The kings of Media and Persia are the two horns on the ram, and the king of Grecia is the great horn in between the eyes of the rough goat. In Daniel 8:3-9, we read of a fight between the ram having two horns, and the rough goat which smote it and brake the two horns, so that there was no power in the ram to stand before him. And the goat waxed very great, and when he was strong, the great horn was broken, and in its place, came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven, and out of one of them came forth a “little horn.”
Did you know that Alexander the Great, during his illustrious military career, was aware that he was fulfilling bible prophecy that motivated his conquest of the Medo-Persian empire? The Jewish historian Josephus revealed that Alexander the Great became aware of his prophetic role when he visited Jerusalem after he conquered both Tyre and Gaza in 332 BC:
“And when he (Alexander) had given (Jerusalem's) high priest his right hand, the priests ran along by him, and he came into the city. And when he went up into the temple, he offered sacrifice to God…”
“And when the Book of Daniel was showed him wherein Daniel declared that one of the Greeks should destroy the empire of the Persians, he supposed that himself was the person intended. And as he was then glad, he dismissed the multitude for the present…”
— Antiquities of the Jews, Book 11, Chapter 8.
When Alexander the Great read of the prophecies in Daniel 8:3-8, he believed it applied to him. He understood that he was the he-goat that came from the West (Daniel 8:5) that would smote the ram with two horns, one higher than the other, (Daniel 8:3) and brake those two horns, referring to the kings of Media and Persia. As history have shown, Alexander fulfilled the bible prophecy one year later, in 331 BC, when he achieved a decisive victory over king Darius of Persia in the battle of Gaugamela (Arbela).
However, Daniel also predicted the future of Alexander the Great, at the height of his power. Daniel 8:8 tells us that when the he goat was waxed very great, and when he was strong, the great horn was broken, and the vast empire was split into four notable kingdoms. That happened when Alexander died in 323 BC, and his kingdom was split between his four chief generals, namely, Ptolemy, Antipater, Seleucus and Antigonus.
Daniel 8:8 "Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven."
That was Daniel who prophesied of Alexander the Great’s Grecia empire hundreds of years before it became a reality. He was the great horn of the he goat, the king of Grecia, that conquered the Medo-Persian empire, and created a vast empire that stretched from Macedonia to Egypt and from Greece to part of India. At the peak of his success, however, he died at the age of 33. That was the “great horn” in Daniel 8:8 that was broken, and in its place came up four notable horns. As prophesied, Alexander’s Grecia empire was not inherited by any of his sons when he died in 323 BC. Instead, it was divided up between his four chief generals, the four notable horns in Daniel 8:8. Daniel continues:
Daniel 8:9 "And out of one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land."
That was the same “little horn” we’ve read in Daniel 7:8. It was said that after Alexander’s death in 323 BC, the four generals fought among themselves for a span of 40 years. The names of these four generals were Ptolemy, Antipater, Seleucus and Antigonus. Egypt was taken by Ptolemy I who declared himself Pharaoh King of Egypt. Macedonia (Greece) was dominated by Antipater starting in 319 BC. The control of Babylon, Persia and several other nearby areas such as Mesopotamia was seized by Seleucus. Antigonus, the last of the generals, declared himself king of Asia Minor in 306 BC. According to Daniel 8:9, “out of one of them came forth a little horn,” which is to say, the “little horn” will come out from one of the four generals: Ptolemy, Antipater, Seleucus or Antigonus.
Daniel 8:21-22 "And the rough goat is the king of Grecia: and the great horn that is between his eyes is the first king. 22 Now that being broken, whereas four stood up for it, four kingdoms shall stand up out of the nation, but not in his power."
Reiterating from Daniel 8:8, that was angel Gabriel who was sent by God to give Daniel understanding of his vision. The great horn on the rough goat was “the first king,” Alexander the Great who died at the height of his power, at the age of 33. Now the great horn being broken, four stood up for it. That would be the four chief generals under Alexander: Ptolemy, Antipater, Seleucus and Antigonus, and four notable kingdoms shall stand up out of the vast empire that Alexander the Great left behind:
Egypt was taken over by Ptolemy I who declared himself Pharaoh King of Egypt.
Greece, a region referred to as Macedonia was dominated by Antipater.
The Seleucid empire that stretches from present-day Syria and Lebanon to Persia was occupied by Seleucus who became ruler of Babylon in 312 BC.
Asia Minor was taken over by Antigonus, who declared himself king of Asia Minor in 306 BC.
Daniel continues in the next verse:
Daniel 8:23 "And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up."
This is that “little horn,” a king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences which came out of one of the four kings. However, the context of this verse is “in the latter time of their kingdom,” the latter end of the fourth kingdom as represented by the feet of part iron and part clay of the great image in king Nebuchadnezzar’s dream. Daniel tells us about the “little horn” in these connecting verses:
Daniel 8:10 "And it waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them."
Daniel 8:24 "And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people."
This is that king of fierce countenance who shall stand up in the latter days. Daniel 8:10 tells us that he shall wax great, even to the host of heaven, and shall cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them. The “stars” in Daniel 8:10 bears a reference to “the mighty and the holy people” in Daniel 8:24. John tells us in this verse:
Revelation 1:20 "The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches."
Therefore, the “stars” in Daniel 8:10 are angels of the mighty and holy people of God. That means that there will be a war in the spiritual realm, and the “little horn,” an angelic entity, the spiritual ruler of the fourth kingdom in the latter times shall fight with the angels of the mighty and holy people of God, and shall cast down some of the host and of the stars to the ground, and stamp upon them. We know from Daniel 10 that one of the angels whom God has sent to give Daniel understanding of his vision, was withstood by the prince of the kingdom of Persia (spiritual Persia), and he was helped by Michael, one of the chief princes of spiritual Israel, and after he has relayed the message to Daniel, he returned to fight with the prince of Persia.
Daniel 10:20 "Then said he, Knowest thou wherefore I come unto thee? and now will I return to fight with the prince of Persia: and when I am gone forth, lo, the prince of Grecia shall come."
The angel also said that when he was gone forth, the prince of Grecia shall come. That would be the spiritual ruler of Grecia, and Grecia being the vast empire of Alexander the Great on earth. We know from the earlier part of this message that after the death of Alexander the Great, his kingdom was split between his four chief generals, and out of one of these four notable kingdoms shall come forth the “little horn” (Daniel 8:9) which will wax exceedingly great, toward the south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land (Jerusalem). That means that the “little horn” will come from the north or the west parts. Ezekiel tells us that Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, shall come out of the north parts with a great army against Israel in the latter days:
Ezekiel 38:15-16 "And thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army: 16 And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes."
This passage of scripture is Gog, that “little horn,” the spiritual ruler of the fourth kingdom in the latter days, that shall come out from his place in the north parts, and shall bring many people with him, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army. These are entities operating in the spiritual realm, influencing and manipulating the activities taking place in the earthly realm from behind the scene, and manifesting them according to their plan, which according to Daniel 8:24 “he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.” Their goal has always been to fully eradicate the spiritual kingdom of God from off the surface of the earth. In the latter days of the fourth kingdom of iron, even though the mark of the beast will be implemented across the world population, there will still be a remnant of God’s people around. God’s kingdom on earth must be fully extinguished, otherwise the bible prophecies concerning the Devil and his earthly kingdom will still come to past. That’s why Gog did what he will do in Ezekiel 38 in the last end of the indignation, triggering the second coming of Jesus Christ. To continue in Part 31.
