Rejoice in the Lord

Hymn with lyrics included.
1

Luke 16:20-21 “And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, 21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.”

Lazarus was a beggar in his lifetime. Everyday, he laid at the gates, and his body was full of sores. He could not even afford a decent meal, and could only desire the crumbs which fell off from the rich man's table. He was down at the lowest rung of society together with the dogs, which came and licked his sores.

1 Samuel 2:8 “He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the LORD'S, and he hath set the world upon them.”

Lazarus was daily at the gates, where the word of God was preached in those days. He believed the word against the great many who counted it as foolishness. The words of the LORD kindled a hope in him… Lazarus was born again, a son of God, a saint, yet his heavenly Father allowed him to go through much sufferings in his lifetime.

Luke 16:22 “And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;”

One day, Lazarus died. The angels came and carried his soul into Abraham's bosom. There, he was reunited with those who died in faith, and lived happily ever after. Go read the entire account in Luke 16:19-31 KJV.
