Study on Daniel 9:27 "he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week..."
MP3 article voiceover included.
This article continues from where I have stopped in my study on Daniel 9:26 where I have discussed from scripture how the people of the prince shall come and destroy the city and the sanctuary, and how the end thereof are like a flood, and how unto the end of the war desolations are determined. King Solomon tells us in this verse that the things that happened in the past are basically foreshadows of the things that will take place in the future:
Ecclesiastes 1:9 "The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun."
There is no new thing under the sun. The things which led to the desolation of the city and the sanctuary (Jerusalem) will be the same things that will lead to the desolation of the temple of our body via the mark of the beast, and that is exactly what Paul was telling us in 2 Thessalonians 2:3 “falling away” (Greek: apostasia). The root meaning of “apostasia” is found in the word “apostasion,” which is translated as “divorcement” in Matthew 5:31, Matthew 19:7 and Mark 10:4. Therefore, the “falling away” according to Paul in 2 Thessalonians 2:3 will be signified by the idea of “divorcement.” It will be Christ giving a writing of divorcement to put away those Christians who would receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads, so that they should not be killed for the testimony they once held as believers, that they may continue to buy or sell like everyone else who, likewise, have received the mark of the beast.
The divorcement of the false converts from Jesus Christ must happen first: the desolation of the temple of our body via the mark of the beast must happen first, and that man of sin, the son of perdition be revealed, before the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. We have a picture of that in Daniel 9:26 “… after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself,” which prophesied of Israel’s rejection of the Messiah (Jesus Christ) leading to his crucifixion, and how in AD 70 Jerusalem was turned into a desolation for their rejection of Jesus Christ as Messiah.
Luke 13:34-35 "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not! 35 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord."
This passage of scripture was Jesus who prophesied of the future of Jerusalem, saying that the “house,” a reference to the temple of God, will be left unto the Jews desolate for their rejection of the Messiah. I’ve covered that in great details in my studies on Daniel 9:24-26 and Daniel 9:26. Following the principles laid out for us in Ecclesiastes 1:9 “that which is done is that which shall be done,” the same things will also happen in the end of the world, in an event prophesied by Apostle Paul “for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition.” (2 Thessalonians 2:3-4) Continuing from where we have left off previously:
Daniel 9:27 "And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate."
Drawing from what we have learnt in our previous studies in Daniel 9:24-26 and Daniel 9:26, one week (1 week = 7 days) is seven years based on Numbers 14:34 “each day for a year.” Daniel 9:27 continues from Daniel 9:26 “… unto the end of the war desolations are determined,” where I have reasoned from scripture how at the end of the world, the tares will be separated from the wheat when the transgressors are come to the full, and a king of fierce countenance understanding dark sentences shall stand up according to Daniel 8:23. Daniel tells us in:
Daniel 11:20-21 "Then shall stand up in his estate a raiser of taxes in the glory of the kingdom: but within few days he shall be destroyed, neither in anger, nor in battle. 21 And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries."
The context of this passage of scripture is after the “king of the north” was fallen, and in his place shall stand up a “raiser of taxes” which shall only rule for short period of time. Then, finally, a “vile person” shall stand up in his place, the same is the king of fierce countenance who shall confirm the covenant with many for one week. This is the new king who shall stand up after the “raiser of taxes” in Daniel 11:20 shall be destroyed, neither in anger, nor in battle within a few days (or years) of his reign. Regarding the “raiser of taxes” in Daniel 11:20, we have a reference of him in this passage of scripture:
Revelation 17:9-11 "And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. 10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space. 11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition."
John tells us that the “raiser of taxes” in Daniel 11:20 is the seventh king that “must continue a short space,” after which the eighth king, which John reveals as “the beast” shall come. He is that “vile person” in Daniel 11:21 who shall come in peaceably and obtain the kingdom by flatteries. It does appear that the throne was not passed from a father to a son. The succession did not happen genetically as a son who succeeded the throne from his father. However, John tells us that “the beast” is “of the seven,” meaning that he came from all the seven kings before him. It is possible that the kingdom did not belong to the “the beast” initially, but that he was elected to the throne, just like what we practise today in modern democracy, which was perhaps why the bible tells us that he shall come in peaceably and obtain the kingdom by flatteries. Isaiah tells us something about that “vile person” in this verse:
Isaiah 32:5 "The vile person shall be no more called liberal, nor the churl said to be bountiful."
The vile person shall be no more called “liberal,” which means he used to be called a liberal. Notice there are two groups of liberals mentioned in this verse: [1] the true liberal, and [2] the false liberal by which the vile person was so named. The true liberal is bountiful. Jesus Christ is a true liberal. Likewise, born again believers are also true liberals. All true liberals hath a bountiful eye according to Proverbs 22:9 “… for he giveth of his bread to the poor.” The “vile person” is the opposite of Christ, but he pretends to be one. That’s why he is also called the “Antichrist,” who while being opposed to Christ, is not openly opposed, but rather a deceiver and substitute for Christ, a counterfeit of the Lord Jesus Christ. BTW, isn’t it a strange coincidence that we also have two groups of liberals in current times? We have Classical Liberalism and Modern Liberalism (or Progressivism). Both are liberalism, yet they are so different in terms of their ideology:
Isaiah continues in the next verse:
Isaiah 32:6 "For the vile person will speak villany, and his heart will work iniquity, to practise hypocrisy, and to utter error against the LORD, to make empty the soul of the hungry, and he will cause the drink of the thirsty to fail."
The king of fierce countenance which Daniel 11:21 calls a “vile person” is one who pretends to be a liberal, and he is a hypocrite and a liar. That’s how he shall come in peaceably and obtain the kingdom by flatteries. Isaiah tells us that he will speak “villany,” which in modern English is “villainy,” meaning that he shall speak wickedly, a little like what George Orwell described about the political language:
The “political language” is the language of villains: it is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind. That is how atrocities are committed by wicked politicians against the people, and yet they are somehow able to get away with their crimes against humanity. Their father, the Devil, is extremely subtil. It is only through the lens of the written word of God that we are able to discern the true evil hidden behind the flattering words of wicked politicians. The writer of Hebrews tells us about the word of God in this verse:
Hebrews 4:12 "For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."
The enemy is that subtil, and the only way we can fight them is with the written word of God, which is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Note that Isaiah 32:6 also tells us that he “make empty the soul of the hungry.” That is the opposite of a true liberal who “giveth of his bread to the poor” according to Proverbs 22:9. Isaiah continues to expose the “vile person” in the next verse:
Isaiah 32:7 "The instruments also of the churl are evil: he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaketh right."
We read in the earlier verse how the vile person speaks villany, and his heart work iniquity, to practice hypocrisy, and the utter error against the LORD. This verse tells us that his instruments are evil: he deviseth wicked devices to destroy the poor with lying words, even when the needy speaketh right. One of the devices of wicked politicians is “political correctness,” which is basically an atmosphere fomented by taking advantage of the differences between people and people and perverting them in favour of the manipulator’s hidden agenda. Political correctness is a powerful weapon in the hands of wicked politicians and is now destroying whatever little good remaining between people and people. Remember a time in 2021 when the COVID19 snakejabs were starting to be rolled out to the public? Remember the government’s hypocrisy in wanting to protect the public from the so-called “virus?” Remember the lies they told in order to force the snakejabs on the people? Remember how they gaslight you and deny you of your own reality? The Nazis had a stock phrase “it’s for your safety” which covered all abuses by the State. Have you tried criticizing the snakejabs in public? I did, and on some occasions, I have been labelled a conspiracy theorist, an anti-vaxxer, a fake news spreader and a fake Christian, among other derogatory names supplied to the NPCs by their programmers.
BTW, NPC stands for “non-player character,” basically a character in a video game that does not represent and cannot be controlled by a player (intelligence). It is a character in the background controlled by the computer (instead of the player) that has a predetermined set of behaviors and could potentially impact game play. You will find them, usually gathered in large groups, in video games and behaving in a preprogrammed manner because they are without independent thinking and are operating from a script. Paul tells us in this verse:
Ephesians 4:14 "That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;"
The COVID19 health scam was a “sleight of men.” Unbeknownst to the NPCs, however, they were being tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the slight of men, and cunning craftiness. People are being manipulated by an invisible hand they could not see. George Orwell once commented:
“Football, beer, and above all gambling, filled up the horizon of their minds. To keep them in control was not difficult.”
— George Orwell, 1984.
The enemy knows that as long as they remain invisible to the people, keeping the general citizenry in control is actually not that difficult. The next verses of Daniel 11 tell us:
Daniel 11:22-23 "And with the arms of a flood shall they be overflown from before him, and shall be broken; yea, also the prince of the covenant. 23 And after the league made with him he shall work deceitfully: for he shall come up, and shall become strong with a small people."
Isaiah 59:19 tells us that the enemy shall come in like a flood. This strikes a chord with the “arms of a flood” mentioned in Daniel 11:22, showing how the vile person who speaks villany shall enter in like a flood and caused the people to be carried away (overflown) with his words in the political language. Of mention here is Daniel 11:23 which tells us that a league, basically an alliance under a covenant (written document), shall be made with the vile person. We have an example of a league in The Covenant of the League of Nations which was signed on 28 June 1919 as Part I of the Treaty of Versailles after World War One to promote international co-operation for peace and security. The covenant was constituted of a preamble and 26 articles. Yet, after the league was made with him, he shall work deceitfully, and shall conspire with a small group of people. The next verse tells us:
Daniel 11:24 "He shall enter peaceably even upon the fattest places of the province; and he shall do that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers’ fathers; he shall scatter among them the prey, and spoil, and riches: yea, and he shall forecast his devices against the strong holds, even for a time."
The league enabled the vile person to enter peaceably upon the fattest places of the province. That also means that he did not belong to the kingdom originally, but that he got the right to enter in after he made the league. We have a picture of that in how the W.E.F or the U.N. or the W.H.O. infiltrated sovereign nations and hijacked their sovereignty by entering a league with them which allows a small group of unelected officials to assert their authorities with the policies they created which oppressed the people in other countries that are members of the league.

Daniel 11:24 tells us that this was something that the vile person’s fathers have not done, nor his fathers’ fathers. The vile person and the small group of people who conspired with him are after the prey, and the spoil, and the riches, but there are strongholds preventing him, which was why he shall forecast devices against these strongholds, even for “a time,” which could literally mean a year based on Numbers 14:34. Daniel continues in the next verses:
Daniel 11:25-26 "And he shall stir up his power and his courage against the king of the south with a great army; and the king of the south shall be stirred up to battle with a very great and mighty army; but he shall not stand: for they shall forecast devices against him. 26 Yea, they that feed of the portion of his meat shall destroy him, and his army shall overflow: and many shall fall down slain."
Earlier, we read that the vile person is the new “king of the north” who replaced the “raiser of taxes” in Daniel 11:20. Here, we read that he shall come against the king of the south with a great army, and the king of the south shall fall because of the conspiracy set against him by his own people who conspired with the king of the north. Daniel continues in the next verses:
Daniel 11:27-28 "And both these kings’ hearts shall be to do mischief, and they shall speak lies at one table; but it shall not prosper: for yet the end shall be at the time appointed. 28 Then shall he return into his land with great riches; and his heart shall be against the holy covenant; and he shall do exploits, and return to his own land."
Verse 27 tells us that even though the king of the south was on friendly terms with the king of the north (vile person), they “speak lies at one table.” That means he only pretended to be friendly, just like how two wicked politicians speak lies one to another on the same table in an attempt to deceive each other, and this will go on for a while, until the time of the end appointed, when the king of the north (vile person) shall stir up his power and courage against the king of the south with a great army. After the battle against the king of the south, the king of the north (vile person) shall return into his own land with the spoil (great riches) he gathered from the victory, and his heart shall be set against the “holy covenant.” This is “the covenant” that Daniel 9:27 was referring to. The psalmist tells us:
Psalms 55:20-21 "He hath put forth his hands against such as be at peace with him: he hath broken his covenant. 21 The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart: his words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords."
The vile person who set his heart against the “holy covenant” shall put forth his hands against such as be at peace with him, because he shall break his covenant with them. He shall betray his own people, as did Judas Iscariot (the son of perdition according to John 17:12) who betrayed Jesus Christ. There was false peace before the betrayal because the vile person is a hypocrite whose words were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart. He is the same as his father, the Devil, who according to Isaiah 14:13-14, hast said in his heart that he shall ascend into heaven, and shall exalt his throne above the stars of God, and shall sit upon the mount of the congregation, and shall ascend above the heights of the clouds. War was in his heart. His words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords.
Isaiah 14:13-14 "For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High."
This passage of scripture was Lucifer (Satan) who wants to be like the most High. It is the same too, with that man of sin, the son of perdition who wants to sit in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God:
2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 "Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God."
The term “son of perdition” is only found twice in the 1611 King James Bible. The first time it occurred is in John 17:12 referring to Judas Iscariot, and the second time it occurred is in 2 Thessalonians 2:3, referring to that man of sin who wants to sit in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. Therefore Judas Iscariot is a type of that man of sin, who Paul reveals to as “that Wicked” in 2 Thessalonians 2:8. The bible tells us in John 13:27 that “Satan entered into him,” referring to Judas Iscariot. The same will also happen with that man of sin, the son of perdition of 2 Thessalonians 2:3. Daniel 11:28 tells us that “his heart shall be set against the holy covenant,” and Psalms 55:20 tells us that he shall break his covenant with the people who were at peace with him. This brings us to the next part of:
Daniel 9:27 "And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate."
There is still a lot to write in this post, but I suppose it is good that we should take a break here. I will continue sharing my studies and my thoughts for Daniel 9:27 in the next article. Last but not least, I want to thank you for your patience, and I wish all my readers a blessed day, and thank you for your support.
Don't worry, be happy!
The early Christians (called Church Fathers, like Augustine of Hippo), interpreted the 7 churches John writes to as 7 ages. History matched them with empires and political ages. We are at the end of Philadelphia, one before the last, Laodicea.
Another approach is that the Bible says that 1000 years is like a day to God:
a) Using Biblical chronology, we are at the year ca. 6000 (6th day): it suits the thousand-year Reign as the 7th day (God rests because mankind has returned to his spiritual design)
b) "destroy this temple (referring to his body) and I'll rebuild it in 3 days". This prophecy not only refers to His resurrection by the 3rd day, but also the completion of his Mystical Body, the Church, by his Second Coming on the 3rd day (where each day is 1000 years).

First round of punishments/catastrophes.
Fire from the sky will kill 1/4 of mankind. Ca. 2040/2050
Then the 1000 year spiritual reign of Christ (Revelation 20:1–6)
Then the last city/age. Second round of punishments.
Then the Antichrist, Moses, the conversion of the Jews, the final battle and the Second Coming of Christ the King.
