Study on Daniel 9:27 "and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease..." (Part 1)
MP3 article voiceover included.
This post continues from where I have left off in my study on Daniel 9:27 “he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week,” where I have discussed from scripture the “vile person” of Daniel 11, which I have identified as what Paul reveals in 2 Thessalonians 2:8 as that “Wicked:” that man of sin, the son of perdition who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. Daniel 11:28 tells us that “his heart shall be set against the holy covenant.” This is the covenant that he shall confirm with many for one week:
Daniel 9:27 "And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate."
He shall confirm the covenant (“the holy covenant”) with many for one week, and one week (1 week = 7 days) is seven years based on Numbers 14:34 “each day for a year.” But this verse also tells us that in the midst of the week, he shall break the covenant which he had confirmed with many, by causing the sacrifice and oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate. There are only four mentions of the term “holy covenant” in the 1611 King James Bible, and Zacharias, the father of John the Baptist, tells us what the holy covenant is about in this passage of scripture:
Luke 1:70-75 "As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began: 71 That we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us; 72 To perform the mercy promised to our fathers, and to remember his holy covenant; 73 The oath which he sware to our father Abraham, 74 That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear, 75 In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life."
The holy covenant is an agreement between God and his people, by which the Holy Ghost has made known via the holy men of God to God’s people since the world began: that we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us. It is a promise from God the Father to perform the mercy as he has promised to his people: an oath which he hath sworn to Abraham, the “father of many nations,” in Genesis 17, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear, in holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life. That would be accomplished by the advent of Jesus Christ as the Saviour of the world, and how the new covenant was to be established based on God the Father giving his only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, as the Lamb of God “… to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy” according to Daniel 9:24. Notice the words of Zacharias in Luke 1:70 “As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began?” This connects to what Paul tells us in this passage of scripture:
Ephesians 3:2-7 "If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward: 3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; (as I wrote afore in few words, 4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ) 5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit; 6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel: 7 Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power."
The holy covenant is the dispensation of the grace of God in which the Holy Spirit by progressive revelation has made known the mystery of Christ to God’s people in written form (“as I wrote afore in few words”) via the holy apostles and prophets, of which Paul was one of them. BTW, that is the true meaning of the word “dispensation” according to the Holy Bible. It is not like what con man C.I. Scofield tells us, that dispensation is “a period of time during which man is tested in respect of obedience to some specific revelation of the will of God. Seven such dispensations are distinguished in Scripture.” [Scofield’s note for Genesis 1:28] Dispensation has nothing to do with some sort of divine plan whereby God does different things to different men separated by different times based on different sets of rules tailored for different ages. It was God's method of progressively dispensing the revelation of the mystery of Jesus Christ throughout history to the church in the form of scriptures to be appended to the canonical volume of the Holy Bible, ultimately finishing up with a total of 66 books, and given to us in two separate testaments, the Old and the New, according to his divine purpose.
1 John 2:22 "Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son."
It was C.I. Scofield who hijacked the word “dispensation” and ascribed to it a different meaning. Scofield was a liar and an antichrist who hijacked and perverted the words of the LORD by introducing confusion through corruption of the word “dispensation” and ascribing to it a foreign meaning that has no place in the inerrant and immutable word of God. Dispensation is God’s way of progressively distributing the knowledge of the mystery of Christ throughout history via the holy apostles and prophets of God, and given to us in the form of scriptures, whereby, when we read from the written word of God given to us “precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little,” (Isaiah 28:13) we may understand their knowledge in the mystery of Christ. God was the one who inspired every word of God in the 66 books of the Holy Bible, preserved them, canonized them, translated them, and arranged them in the format that we have today: the whole volume of the word of God it is written of Christ Jesus, the Lamb of God, who came to give his life for whosoever believeth in him.
Hebrews 10:7 "Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God."
That was how we have the 66 books of the Holy Bible given to us in two testaments: the 39 books of the Old Testament and the 27 books of the New Testament in a span of about 2,000 years, every word of God testifying to the Lord Jesus Christ (“the truth”) which was, and is, and is to come, like what the bible tells us in these two verses:
John 5:39 "¶ Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me."
John 15:26 "But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me:"
It is the holy scriptures, every word of God in the 66 books of the Holy Bible that testify of the Lord Jesus Christ, and it is also the Spirit of truth, the Holy Spirit of God, that testify of the Lord Jesus Christ. The written word of God cannot be decoupled from the Spirit of God. That also explains the evil motive behind modern bible versions, which seek to change the written word of God in the name of updating the bible to make it more relevant for current times. This is linked to what Paul tells us in:
2 Thessalonians 2:7-8 "For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:"
This passage of scripture tells us that the “mystery of iniquity” is at work in the background to eradicate the Spirit of the Lord. Before the Spirit of the Lord is taken out of the way, that “Wicked” cannot be revealed. For more reading, you may refer to the following article:
It is “the truth” (Jesus) that they are after, which is why there have been wars after wars waged against the written word of God to remove it from churches and bible colleges. Paul tells us in Ephesians 6:11 to put on the whole armour of God. The war is first and foremost against the written word of God, which is standing in the way between the Devil and mankind. That is why it must be taken out of the way. The Devil also knew that since he could not destroy the written word of God (the truth), he could replace it with something else. The weapons of the Devil’s warfare are philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ, as what Paul tells us in Colossians 2:8. Well, if they are “not after Christ,” then, they are after a lie. Paul warns us here, in:
2 Corinthians 11:3-4 "But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. 4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him."
This passage of scripture is a warning against what the Devil wants to do to you, even as he has done to the woman Eve in the garden of Eden in Genesis 3. His aim is to corrupt your mind from the simplicity that is in Christ, and his weapons of warfare are philosophy and vain deceit which are use to war against “the truth” (Jesus). If he could persuade you as he did to Eve in the garden of Eden, you will walk away from “the truth” (Jesus) on your own. That’s why Paul warns us of “another Jesus,” “another spirit,” and “another gospel” here, because the Devil is a counterfeiter. He will even counterfeit Christianity in order to deceive you. If the Spirit of the Lord accompanies the written word of God, that means there is a different Jesus, a different spirit, and a different gospel in modern bible versions which are translated from a different set of manuscripts (as compared to the 1611 King James Bible), which BTW, are still evolving. There is a different spirit embedded in the text of the NIV, NKJV, ESV, NASB, NLT, MSG etc pretending to be the Spirit of the LORD. Consider this passage of scripture:
1 Samuel 28:13-14 "And the king said unto her, Be not afraid: for what sawest thou? And the woman said unto Saul, I saw gods ascending out of the earth. 14 And he said unto her, What form is he of? And she said, An old man cometh up; and he is covered with a mantle. And Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and he stooped with his face to the ground, and bowed himself."
There are familiar spirits pretending to be the prophets of God, such as in this case, when king Saul went to a woman who had a familiar spirit which pretended to be prophet Samuel. Likewise, familiar spirits can also pretend to be the Spirit of the LORD, speaking familiar things. That was how the Devil is able to deceive great numbers of Christians and churches into the worship of another Jesus, with another gospel and another spirit, and that is also the “mystery of iniquity” at work to take the Spirit of the Lord out of the way. All these links back to Daniel 11:28 “his heart shall be set against the holy covenant,” because the holy covenant is embedded in the 66 books of the Holy Bible which testify of the Lord Jesus Christ, in both the Old and the New Testament.
Daniel 11:28 "Then shall he return into his land with great riches; and his heart shall be against the holy covenant; and he shall do exploits, and return to his own land."
The written word of God must be taken out of the way, so that the Spirit of the Lord can be taken out of the way, and then shall that “Wicked” be revealed: that man of sin, the son of perdition who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. At this point however, it is to be noted that this was not an open war against the word of God which the king of the north (“vile person”) hates. That’s why the bible tells us in this verse “his heart shall be set against the holy covenant.” He seems to know that it was the Spirit of the Lord resisting him. The Spirit of the Lord will strive with men, and we have a reference of that in:
Genesis 6:3 "And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years."
Isn't it true that man is still striving with the LORD today? But what exactly is man striving against? Yes, not against a tangible body, but against the words of the LORD — the living God in the form of the written Word. Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians 3:17 “where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.” The Spirit of the Lord will strive with man, and that’s how tyranny in the form of oppressive governmental powers and abuse of authority is kept in check. Liberty is the antonym of tyranny. So, we know that it was the Spirit of the Lord striving against the king of the north, a tyrant, through the written word of God wherein is the holy covenant between God and his people: that we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us. So, after defeating the king of the south in a battle, the king of the north shall do exploits, and return to his own land with the great riches he has gotten. The next verses tell us:
Daniel 11:29-30 "At the time appointed he shall return, and come toward the south; but it shall not be as the former, or as the latter. 30 ¶ For the ships of Chittim shall come against him: therefore he shall be grieved, and return, and have indignation against the holy covenant: so shall he do; he shall even return, and have intelligence with them that forsake the holy covenant."
At the time appointed, the king of the north shall return, and come toward the south, but this time round, it was not going to be as easy as previously, because the ships of Chittim shall come against him. Why did the ships of Chittim come against him? Recall the words of Zacharias, the father of John the Baptist, in Luke 1:71 “that we should be saved from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us.” God was the one who caused the ships of Chittim to come against the king of the north, because it was part of the holy covenant between God and his people, that we should be saved from the hand of our enemies. That was why the king of the north was grieved, and have shall indignation against the holy covenant. The latter part of Daniel 11:30 tells us that he shall “have intelligence with them that forsake the holy covenant.” This is like what Paul warns us in:
Galatians 2:4-5 "And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in privily to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage: 5 To whom we gave place by subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you."
Those would be the false brethren that the king of the north shall have intel with, and those “Judas Iscariots” shall help him spy out the liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that he might bring us into bondage. The psalmist reveals the conspiracy between them:
Psalms 2:2-3 "The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying, 3 Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us."
They shall take counsel together, against the LORD, and against his anointed, saying: “Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.” Just so you know that all forms of the word “band” in Psalms 2:3 “Let us break their bands asunder… ” are found exactly 66 times in the 1611 King James Bible. That is a hint that it is “the truth” (Jesus; Spirit of the Lord) in the 66 books of the Holy Bible that they are after. For extra reading on my bible study for this passage of scripture, please refer to the following article:
Then, Daniel 9:27 reveals to us their plan that “he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week.” The king of the north (“vile person”) shall pretend by confirming the holy covenant with many for a period of seven years.
Daniel 9:26-27 "And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. 27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate."
That was his plan, that he shall pretend to be friendly with God’s people in order to win their trust. Thereafter, he shall gain entry as a trojan horse, and in the middle of the seven years period, he shall “cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate.” We have a confirmation of this passage of scripture in:
Daniel 11:31 "And arms shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate."
The “sanctuary of strength” here is a reference to “the city and the sanctuary” in Daniel 9:26. Recall the study we did in Daniel 9:27 "he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week…" where I’ve reasoned from scripture that “the city and the sanctuary” is a reference to our physical body, which the bible refers to as the temple of God. I wrote: “The things which led to the desolation of the city and the sanctuary (Jerusalem) will be the same things that will lead to the desolation of the temple of our body via the mark of the beast, and that is exactly what Paul was telling us in 2 Thessalonians 2:3 “falling away” (Greek: apostasia).” Here, in Daniel 11:31, it says “they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate.” That, according to Daniel 9:27, will happen in the “midst of the week,” which is to say, the middle of the seven years period. In fact, that was also what Jesus had warned us in:
Matthew 24:15 "When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)"
Mark 13:14 "¶ But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, (let him that readeth understand,) then let them that be in Judea flee to the mountains:"
When we shall see the mark of the beast implemented, and that man of sin, the son of perdition of 2 Thessalonians 2:3 “standing in the holy place,” that is when we must flee, and that will happen in the middle of the seven years period. Jesus calls the mark of the beast “the abomination of desolation.” It is called the abomination of desolation because Daniel 9:27 tells us that it shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, or in the words of Daniel 11:31, they shall take away the daily sacrifice. That is what the mark of the beast will do to the temple of God, our body. That’s why we read in Matthew 24:15 the words “(whoso readeth, let him understand:),” and the same is also repeated in Mark 13:14. These words are even enclosed in parenthesis to highlight the additional information that is important for us, and we are told to read them with understanding. What was the sacrifice that Daniel was referring to in Daniel 9:27 and Daniel 11:31? Think about the altar of stone in the temple of God (our body) whereby offerings and sacrifices were made unto the LORD.
Exodus 20:25 "And if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone: for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it."
Deuteronomy 27:5 "And there shalt thou build an altar unto the LORD thy God, an altar of stones: thou shalt not lift up any iron tool upon them."
These two verses tell us that God’s altar shall not be built of hewn stone (stones cut with a tool), Moreover, if we were to lift up any iron tool upon the altar, we have “polluted” it. This word “polluted” connects to Daniel 11:31 “they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength,” the sanctuary of strength being a reference to the temple of our body. That is what the mark of the beast will do to the body: it shall pollute the temple of God, which Jesus refers to as “the holy place” in Matthew 24:15 and Mark 13:14. In the place of an altar of stone made without hands, there shall be an altar of hewn stone installed in the temple of our body for those who shall receive the mark of the beast in their foreheads or in their right hands. That would be how the daily sacrifice and the oblation shall be taken away.
Note: I realize that there is still a lot to write on this topic, and if I were to continue, the article would be too long for comfortable reading. It would far exceed the 20 minutes reading time I am trying to keep the length of my articles to. So, I shall take a break at this point, and continue in Part 2.
Just wow. Many of my varied thoughts come together in your presentation. I won't ask questions until you have presented more and all read a few times.
Do you yourself realize how late the hour is ? I don't see 7 years coming as we are in the last 7 years already and only how far in is the question in my thinking.
Could it be that “polluting the temple of strength” is the taking of a nanotech infused vaccine or neuralink implant that leads to a hive mind where the perceptions of the masses are formed via electromagnetic signaling direct to the brain? And that this will be presented as the path to world peace? …by an antichrist figure presenting from Jerusalem and a rebuilt temple…that from the lie of zionism will come unadulterated satanism. The inversion of “like mindedness” of the body of Christ…”the cloud” informing everyone’s thoughts who have not trusted Christ? Tied to a digital I.d., CBDC, censorship, social credit score, and a one world religion based upon AI and technology idolatry? Hmmm can we see anything like that taking shape regardless of the political administration in power?
